No change will be the way we go I'd say.

If for some reason Tommy Mac fails to get up, and it sounds like the prognosis is better tonight than it was earlier in the day, then it'd Pedo in for him.

The team as named with Sunday extras;

B: Michael Hibberd, Oscar McDonald, Neville Jetta
HB: Bernie Vince, Jake Lever, Jordan Lewis
? Nathan Jones, Jack Viney, Angus Brayshaw
HF: Alex Neal-Bullen, Jesse Hogan, Jake Melksham
F: Tom McDonald, Tim Smith, Christian Petracca
Foll: Max Gawn, Christian Salem, Clayton Oliver
I/C (from): James Harmes, Charlie Spargo, Dom Tyson, Mitch Hannan, Cameron Pedersen, Jayden Hunt, Bayley Fritsch, Jeff Garlett

In: Tyson, Pedersen, Hunt, Garlett
Out:

Assuming that Tom gets up who is on the bench and who is the travelling emergency?

Harmes, Hannan and Ftich wouls all be there if it was up to me and probably Spargo if he is not fatigued. Pedersen as emergency?

Yeah, it is a bastard of a thing to shake, thank heavens it is not the foot.

Key forward Tom McDonald has been named in the starting 18, despite leaving the track on Thursday

He came from Gosch’s Paddock as a precaution, due to his foot injury, which kept him out of the side for the opening five rounds.

Are you having an "internet victory" moment?

Dang was hoping for a Crouchless Adelaide midfield. Hope we can keep Matt's influence down as much as possible. Hopefully he might be a bit rusty first game back.

A crunching tackle from one J. Viney inside the first minute of the game, and then seeing him test his hamstring out as he tries to chase Nate Jones as he breaks away from a pack will be a nice welcome back I'd say.

Never understood how a player gets dropped, doesn’t play, then gets named in the squad the next week.

Gawny then pats Viney on the head.

You referring to Tyson? He was the carry over emergency last week so couldn't play for Casey. I'd imagine he's been named as insurance if a mid was to go down up there. He'll be named as emergency again.

Could be for his morale too who knows.

I tried hard to have a discussion with a Crows supporter from work yesterday about our upcoming match. He said to me that we have no one that good and Oliver Clayton is overrated. ??‍♂️

As I constantly discover, there is absolutely no point in trying to discuss anything with fanatics. There are so many on this site...

Not so good for the morale of the players that did play for Casey and played well.

I’m referring to Tyson, but I’ve never liked it, it’s not just about him.

Fail to understand that question. What do you mean?

Pity about Tommy but we'll still be fielding a very strong side regardless. We need consistency in performance from all players if we're going to win this. I don't want to see a big drop off from a bunch of players after only a week.

Also, taking Tyson out of that wing position has done wonders.

It just means he’s moved to 23rd in the pecking order doesn’t it? I don’t think it goes that the players who played at Casey are automatically more meritorious for selection than the non-playing emergency. “Merit” is more broad than form in a single week.

I’d get it if everyone was playing well and you just got pushed out. But if you’re not playing well and get dropped I’d prefer you earned selection rather than get named on reputation.

...  well Tex's Ranger is still out, so maybe they will be ?

Anyway Viney and Oli will be ready to tear them new ones.

Our odds havent changed, into $1.74, clear favourites.

Terry Wallet picked us, so that makes me less confident... :(

I just think of it as a ranking from 1-40 (or whatever) and Tyson, through form and the availability of Viney fell from 22nd to 23rd. The fact that he was in the senior side in the first place means they thought him a better option than all the other players at Casey. Being dropped from the side doesn’t necessarily change that.

Nice that Bernie, ANB, Lever and Viney get to "savour their own blood kin"

you'd think Tom Mac would do a quick toe test before he got on the long plane ride... why wait till you get there to test it?

Sure test it again when you arrive at the Alice to make doubly sure .. must love the plane ride !!

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
