That is just completely bizarre. Not only has tmac just come back from an injured foot but is playing well in the forward line while sometimes wandering out to the wing area. Gawn can play forward more is nonsensical because he is the best ruckman in the side so why play him forward more with tmac rucking ??????? I just don't get your argument.

Being able to swing changes when things aren't to our liking, for future options, says we teach them now to play multiple roles.

So we can call the tune in games, in our future.

If we played the rest of the year like we did tonight...

Then Jeffy will soon be a lonely lonely man.

Amazing how much a system works when the entire 22 buy in huh.

Well done Dees, (Spargo).

Petracca is in poor form.

A week at Casey won’t hurt.

Nah. He needs games at AFL level. His talent means the next game could easily be the one he busts open. The side also feels more intimidating with Petracca on the teamsheet. He has that aura already.

i agree with Tyson out for Viney. Tyson has more class than Harmes but you can only judge on performance (I know that probably contradicts my defence of Trac but he’s a rare beast ?).

Can't see them switching a tall for a mid, Weid has allowed TMac and Hogan to roam while keeping some structure in the forward line. I think it's really helped with some of the mismatches that occurred in the last.

I'm in the Vince out for a rest, Viney in camp.

He’s also a pretty handy relief ruckman for Max. A lot of pluses for the Weid.

If Viney plays well at Casey.

IN- Viney

OUT- Tyson

Spargo 0 tackles. If Garlett kicks 3 or 4 and lays 4+ tackles there could be another change.

Petracca treading water and needs to start swimming fast. I would like Trac to play deep forward. Dees will not drop him though because it would cause a fishing frenzy with other clubs (especially Collingwood). And it’s the last thing the Dees need.

Weid playing an important role. He stays! Petracca can play his role though.

Hunt is going to find it hard to get back in. Salem tearing it up!

Jeez if droppping a player so they can find firm causes them to sulk and consider another club we're better off without them?

Very True. Eddie would be drooling though!

I think Trac came back a week early with the finger. It has only put pressure on himself to hold his spot. Because that is all he is doing at the moment. Hopefully he can have a breakout against the Blues! Deep forward for mine.

He only just signed 3 months ago.

I just had a look at the highlights and Harmes sling tackle doesn't look great he may get a week.

What do other people think?

Don't agree. I was watching that tackle carefully thinking this might be bad, but really  there was no concern in the end. Don't even think the guys head hit the canvas.

I think the poor sod who misses is Bernie.  If everyone else comes up, then the natural transition is that Vince makes way.  Didn’t he also sign on knowing he might play a lot at Casey?

No he signed because he wants to play finals, he said so when he signed. We need to drop him bring in hunt would hate to lose a player because Vince is keeping them out of the side, thanks Vince but its time to go.

Harmes is super lucky his head didn't  hit the ground. He def would have been reported.

Its a bit funny really. Sling tackles are illegal. That was a sling tackle. Yet no report or even free.

Because the player wasn't injured Binman, for some reason the AFL love to  judge incidents by the end result rather than the action which is just bizarre.

Having said that Harmes should not be citied for this.

Unless Geoffy has a blinder Spargo has done more than enough over three games to have another go.

I'm tempted to make no changes and let Viney take his time to return.

I like Spargo but yesterday he did a few things that you would expect from a third gamer.

Has a future but not averse to seeing him go back to work on a couple of things ie. decision making and tackling technique.

Agreed on the issue of form, actually surprised on the lack of comment.

Viney is straight in next week.

Spargo didn’t do much yesterday, a week off and then back to Casey

Let’s wait til Viney plays before brining him in, he might be super out of touch or only play very limited minutes.

The coach has already declared him an ‘in’ in his presser....

Settle down.

OK I think the Weid stays I just know that T.Mac can play well as a second ruck and Gawn can play well as a second forward. The Weid hasn't grasped the second forward role yet but he has been quite good as the second ruck.

Disagree with this.  My observation last night was that Gawn was getting benched/rested halfway through each quarter and that asides from the last quarter, the period when Gawn was off the ground corresponded in a period of GC accendancy.  This worries me against the better teams.  Perhaps having Viney back will help, but it's certainly something I think the team needs to work on.

I know Weid is more the future and whilst I been encouraged by some signs he has given the previous two weeks and think it's good he has been given some continuity in the seniors, I still prefer the presence and phyicality that Pedo gives.  Whilst the last few weeks against lesser sides playing the Weid has gone ok, I'd still prefer Pedo back in for the big games we need to win.  Will be interesting to see how the form of Pedo and the Weid tracks in the VFL and AFL respectively over the next few weeks.
