AFL is special in the whole crowd thing... like other areas it seems we are losing our innocence.

Not sure it's necessary but rather it's a reaction to some security anlayst's what ifs.

Have we ever had a serious crowd invasion incident?

Off to the World Cup in a couple of weeks .... will be interested to see how the Russians deal with it.

Yep ...nailed it. No we never have, even in the free for all 70s.....the odd streaker, thats about it. It would be rubbish trying to view the match through that fence. Thats fantastic you can go to the World Cup. Id almost forgotten. When do the games actually start? Keep me posted.

St Kilda are great at guarding space ! Does that mean that the Dee's are no longer the number one team for guarding space in the AFL ??? If so, that's a shame !!

Wow just got home from dinner and saw the last few minutes of that showdown game. Well done to port for kicking the winning goal, but how did Adelaide not manage to hold on with 44 seconds to go.

Anyway Im still dining out on the bummers loss. On bomberblitz there is a sack worsfold thread. People are saying get roos as interim coach. He wouldn't go near your club. They are even wanting to get rid of Xavier Campbell. Poor Mark Neeld cops it to. another sack Neeld. Anyway its nice to see this club turning on there own and playing not well. I think today the supporters are more annoyed because its carlton they lost to.

Bulldogs have kicked away now.

That membry miss is a coach killer. Seriously he kicks that saints are only down by 8. Its hard to believe that players earn what they earn and cant do there job in kicking a goal. He was in front of goal.

I’m starting to question the quality of the Sherrins this year, you just can’t kick that bad when you’re a full time footballer.

Have been posting a little about the trip on the Demonland soccer forum. Games start June 13.

Come and have a chat. I'm trying to give some colour and a dash of Vodka.

Russia is another world but who knows :)

WADA convicted drug cheat. Hardly the type of bloke you'd have any respect for, if he was your captain.

Sounds a bit like Trenners and Grimey back in the day. Those two sounded like a pair of scalded school boys every time they fronted the media after a loss.

I would not take that as a reason for him not to be captain, who else could captain them that  has not been convicted,  he is over rated as a player, the bombers played above themselves last year, I never rate heppel as a player. They have recruited very poorly, from the time they picked parish I always thought he was never going to be any good, I mean he was classed as a inside mid, he is too slim for that I can't see any tricks to his game, he does not get much of it his kicking is just average, he is weak lucky we have Jason Taylor because in the past we would have picked him, he is Cale Morton mark2, can anyone tell me his best weapon?

What a beautiful morning to wake up to off the back of a comfortable 70 point win and Essendon getting rolled by the winless Carlton.

I was thinking exactly the same thing FD, my bacon and eggs taste really good this morning!

I said it last week, but how good is it that Essendon are so crap? This time there’s no cry of WADA conspiracy, no “oh well, we only have half a team”, just good old fashioned being terrible when they thought they were going to be good. I am enjoying every minute of it.

I said over the summer that these teams bringing in multiple players from other clubs on good money can lead to disaster.

Stringer is troubled and Smith and Saad have limitations and at Port,  Watts has been only fair and Rockliff is just starting to get going with JT and Barry unlikely to have a big impact.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
