Forgive my ignorance- what is BCNA?

I'm thinking that AFLHQ are softening on the issue - or at least wishing to be less pedantic and illogical in their application of the rules (I find it hard to believe that an idea akin to our red-back clash of 2017 was never floated before - but rather that it's just now been accepted). However, any attempts at logical discretion on their behalf will no doubt be accompanied by further cries of bias and corruption.

The only reason I can come up with as to why we need a clash jumper at all is because someone at the AFL has worked out that our jumper clashes with the Casey Demons and has decided we need a clash jumper because of it.

I'm not totally keen on a royal blue clash, I'd prefer a predominately red one but it's better than white.

You shouldnt be kicking the ball at somebody’s back Dr G! (Especially Gus)

For the spectators more than the players

Inverted jumper (red with navy blue yoke), redback jumper or royal blue - all are preferable to white and in particular the bintang one from last year.

they said it couldn't be done. they said it was a waste of time. that the afl would never let us not wear white. the said you can't fight city hall. they called us wankers. we said we'd never give up. apologies will be gratefully accepted. you know who you are.

I said it dc and I still don't care what we wear as long as we win in it.

I'm not too fussed about us now wearing the red and royal blue jumper now as our "clash" jumper. It is better than wearing the white jumper.

It takes us back to the days of the mid 1970s and early to mid 1980s when we used to wear these colours.

Let's just hope we can win far more games than we did in those days! :P

For those interested here is a video link showing the new red and royal blue "clash" jumper.

I love it but am disappointed for some of our regular posters who won't have the opportunity to whinge and complain about the AFL and all that S$#T.  Reading the first couple of pages of this thread and the level of self indulgent and self serving complaining was breathtaking.  Move on and enjoy supporting your team!!

As a follower of over 50 years this choice is a fantastic one...now if only we could resurrect Robbie (the greatest player to wear the red and royal blue)

Go Dees!!

Can't link to the post on Instagram, but the royal blue looks good. Means we don't deviate from our current jumper much at all which can only be a good thing.

Ah yes, the Robbie Flower days. 70+ point beltings weekly. Those were the days. 2013 really brought me back, but this is an all new form of nostalgia!

In all seriousness though, I never cared enough to hate the white clash as much as some here, but this is a major improvement. I no doubt prefer red and blue than predominantly white.

Could you get a more perfect away strip? Well done MFC!

We have the best guernseys in the league.

Royal blue much better. With the white jumper I thought I was barracking for Shitney.

Most exciting news all day.  Stuff about the new sponsor is great and important, but really doesn't do much to excite the passion in me as a supporter.  Well done to the club for listening to it's membership/supporter base and making this happen and also for the AFL for finally comming to their senses as well.

Right from the start of this ridiculous clash/away jumper policy the AFL brought in 10 - 15 years ago, it felt like a foreign (Americanised) sporting culture was being imposed on our code with the (selectively applied) predominantly white emphasis.  I'm pragmatic enough to realize the need for a clash jumper of some description, but really the AFL should have thought long and hard before it let clubs like WC, Port and Freo adopt new jumper designs that clashed more heavily with existing teams jumpers than the jumpers approved for those teams when theyou first joined the comp, so much of this was the making of the AFL.

The new 'Royal Blue' clash looks great compared to the white/Bali jumpers.  It actually looks a few shades lighter than the original royal blue ones, though my royal blue one with the number 2 got pretty sun faded in the end.

  • GAMEDAY: Geelong

It's Game Day, and reinforcements are finally arriving for the Demons—but will it be too little, too late? They're heading down the freeway to face a Cats side returning home to their fortress after two straight losses, desperate to reignite their own season. Can the Demons breathe new life into their campaign, or will it slip even further from their grasp?

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit.
Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

For a brief period of time in the early afternoon of yesterday, the Casey Demons occupied top place on the Smithy’s VFL table. This was only made possible by virtue of the fact that the team was the only one in this crazy competition to have played twice and it’s 1½ wins gave it an unassailable lead on the other 20 teams, some of who had yet to play a game.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

In my all-time nightmare game, the team is so ill-disciplined that it concedes its first two goals with the courtesy of not one, but two, fifty metre penalties while opening its own scoring with four behinds in a row and losing a talented youngster with good decision-making skills and a lethal left foot kick, subbed off in the first quarter with what looks like a bad knee injury.
