Aaron Hall

Kevin Bartlett on Triple M has said that "Aaron Hall, whose form has wavered at various times, looks a world beater sometimes…he also could be gettable for a club that wants to come to the Suns with the right offer."

Just what Melbourne we need to add to their midfield mix, can break the lines and gives the midfield some x factor.

Whats his source?

Doesn't need a source as he is speculating. Said he "could" be gettable not he "is" gettable.

Here is one from me, Danger and Martin could be gettable.

Haha. I had a dream this morning that Goody had him coming to the Dees...

He is very gettable and he has come up as a trade target this 2nd half of the year. 27yr old.

He would fit nicely into the side. I think he needs to lower his eyes a little at times as he can blaze away and try and do it all by himself.

Explosive player! Match winner.

Meh. Can get a bit of the footy but strikes me as a player who doesn't do anything damaging with it. Doesn't hit a target as often as he should and doesn't put in the hard yards defensively.

There's a Facebook page named The North Melbourne Shinboners that mentions Norf chasing Hall and Trent McKenzie.

On $1mill ea over 10 years?

Haven't we already discussed Hall in the trade rumours thread? Anyway, as I said in that thread, he has the very odd game where he looks like a world beater, but he's a turnover merchant most of the time. He reminds me of another Harmes, which we don't need. Runs hard, gets into good positions, but usually bites off more than he can chew with his kicking.

And like Harmes, is a dangerous forward option.  Use him as a small forward rather than a mid and his turnovers are less of an issue.

I don't think either work as permanent forward options.

He was a Demonland special in his draft year- his highlight package litvthis place up.

I very much doubt the gc would want to part with him.

I reckon Hall would be a good addition to our side. He runs hard, able to get the ball and uses it well. Him on the wing would be great.

Would be a fringe player like Harmes at best. Dont see him as a priority personally.

I am a fan, and reckon Goodwin/Roos mantra of "from the contest out" might rapidly improve his game. I dont have the sense of him being a turnover king.

But he is definitely not  a primary target.

Why is Harmes a fringe player at best? And Hall... Please explain.

Now that Gaff is out of the picture. Talk is Hall would be available for a 2nd round pick territory due to his inconsistency.

He has been in a terrible environment but with someone like Lewis in his ear he could come good. Will be 27 at the end the year. Could be the icing on top to our midfield.

Thought he was younger than that, would definately have a crack if he comes at a reasonable price.

He's soft as butter and mentally weak. A few good hits and a tag and his March form disappears every year.

We need outside run but not at the cost of adding a player who will go to water in September (if we make ever make it).

Get our young mids fitter and faster and then look for some running players in the draft rather than take on speculative types.

Yep.

Yeah, let's stick with the quality finals players we have that can't make it into the finals.

Hall would be a really handy pick up IMO.  Who is shovelling it out to him at Gold Coast?  The only bloke there that can win it is Ablett and then he gets the Clearance as well.

I think Hall would be a good fit to complement Oliver, Viney, Brayshaw and add some acceleration away from stoppages.

If you said to me we get a pick 30 for Watts and then send that to GC, I'd do it.  I'd prefer an inconsistent lightning fast, line-breaking midfielder to an inconsistent half forward.

Hall would be a good pickup but Watts would be a miss regardless even if you want to shoot me down.

Yes we can pick him up but he has been inconsistent himself and hasn't played consistently since the start of 2016 when he had several good....plus 30 disposals.  ANYWAY JW hasn't flown the coup yet.

Some players just need a fresh start. I think Hall is one and also Watts. They will both be better off moving clubs.

Hall to Dees? Yes.

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
