 I thought If  you played less than 10 games in a season for Casey or more than 10 games for Melbourne, that you would be ineligible for Casey finals. Either option makes Bailey ineligible.

Team selected by Casey shows BF on the wing and football dept said he and Bull would fly back to play on Sunday so I'm guessing he's eligible.

You're eligible if your senior side is still playing.

he comes striaght back in against pies or tiges its non negotiable, but it shows how good goody is that he knows that he had to make the call and didnt just sit back and make the easy choice to go unchanged just coz we were winning. all round i think its exactly what we should be doing, managing a players time and playing a team with an eye just on this weeks matchups as we should do the following week

Maybe he shouldnt have the weight of both our entire teams forward entries and the two biggest defenders on the opposition put onto his shoulders by our coaching...

Didn't realise having a great defender on you affected your ability to kick basic set shots 

I will say what I said about Salem yesterday -  this kid would be a star at Hawthorn.

How could any midrange half forward cope with that kind of pressure though? You're thrusted into full forward out of position and pretty much expected to be our only consistent avenue to goal. I'd be missing set shots too, like many other full forwards have been doing in recent years.

He's still being played out of position. 

Prior to Langdon and Tomlinson recruitment,  he was our most natural winger.

We've never tried him there as far as I can remember. 

Should be playing up at half forward not so deep and TMac has to contest deep if we are not playing a second tall. Hard to tell on TV but Fritsch is playing deep and Mac just trying to make a contest to every inside long bomb!

I think confidence is all.  self belief.

At end of season, I'd like to see him get stuck into the gym, and put some more strength on those bones.

Time he became more manly.   He's still  'just a boy'.

Both Fritsch and Tmac should be leading up the ground as far as possible in order to open our forward line up. Weideman or Petracca should be playing deep one out, and the other making an initial lead. Gives us two options, kick it to the lead up bloke, or kick it to the space behind him where another forward will be deep one out. This way we can go inside 50 without having to bomb it on the head of 20 blokes and wonder why we aren't converting for all our grunt work up the ground. Open it up, have a two pronged forward set up of Petracca and Weideman, have one lead up, the other sit in the square, and implement a mozzi fleet. What we are doing at present is simply not working, and its not just broken, it has been for many years. This sh*t has been happening since Moloney/Jamar.

Yeah;  I think he's a half forward.

He's a bit of an opportunist, for the ball hacked free,  he swoops and pings goals.

He's learning another forward role, atmo.  He needs to mature more.

I think this is right KDA.  But TMc has been built to wrestle and hold position, against other big bodies.

 

So I think Weide is the one earmarked to lead up, from starting deep with TMc, as well as Hunt.?

Weide is a great long kick for goal, and atmo, his body still growing, filling;  imv he's suited to play high, after starting at full forward.  And we've got the mosquito's now to buzz about TMc's feet.

I wonder about Toms foot if it's 100%, since the end of 2018.   But he's now built for power.

I prefer Bailey as a high half forward so he can have a run at the ball and not be forced to fly for marks in the goal square with bigger bodies against him.

Fritsch is a flanker, be that at either HF or HB, allowing him to roam (i like the idea of using him as a winger).

Give him some space to work with, not stick him in the middle of a scrum with blokes twice the size of him.

They have all gone backwards.

Happens when you have a coach that confuses the [censored] out of them. They're like rabbits in the headlights with no idea what to do. So scared of making mistakes.

There is no initiative at all. He's trying to make them into Goodwin robots. They are failing badly.

He has the personality of a wet lettuce and it reflects how our team plays. If I was listening to him day in day out I would tune out as well.

Agree

If only he hadn’t dropped that sitter dead in front early in Q1.

He is a good player but he is not KPF and never will be.

He's definitely better forward than back. His kicking is a real worry - currently bottom 5 in the AFL for goal kicking accuracy. He used to be a beautiful kick, but for some reason has become a legitimately poor kick. Needs to sort it out.

He's being played in the wrong position due to poor coaching and structural issues. He's built like a twig. He's a wiry half forward flanker being made to play FF against blokes 10-20kgs bigger than him. He will never win marking contests against them with the ball dumped on his head. We need to play a tall forward at FF, and use Fritsch where he's best suited out on a HFF.

He's been close to impacting games this year, but has been a little uncharacteristic missing simple marks and set shots, both of which are usually his strengths. Given it's only a small sample size, I'm not too concerned about him yet and reckon he will tear a game apart soon.

In saying that, I agree he needs another big body up there so he is the 3rd option.

Not impressed with his start to the season.

2.7 as our designated full forward is a poor effort, as well as dropping a sitter in the first quarter which would've gotten us on the scoreboard. And why does he always have his shots on an angle, which doesn't help his accuracy?

Maybe he needs to roam up to the wings and have a Brown or Weideman come in to play deep at full forward.

Melkham has also been diabolical this year with 1 goal in 3 games and a severe lack of defensive pressure (at least Fritsch provided this in rd 2)

We all got excited with this duo after a 9 goal combined pre-season performance V's Hawthorn but both have been symptomatic of our dysfunctional fwd line.
