Wouldn't be surprised, this sort of trash talk would be pretty common and I don't think many people thought we could fudge it from there. Epic Fail.

Yeah i do. Finals were never confirmed all year. Particularly during the St Kilda clash.

Theyve not only been drinking their own bath water, but they've been bathing in it for months.

On saturday PJ said on radio that The MFC was now a respected club

Articles like this throw that trust down the toilet.

These players have no respect...Yet

Goodwin just said goodbye to a relaxing Christmas break...

Yeah they've been humbled with what's transpired but it's the arrogance that has played it's part in the result.

Cause and effect.

What a petty thing to bring up in a radio interview. Wouldn't be surprised but sounds like something someone made up to make our demise even sweeter.

We were flying mid-season and there was finally a bit of swagger and bravado about the Dees. I really don't think the football world enjoyed seeing us succeed.  Part of me wonders if the players were chastened and embarrassed by the attacks and criticism of media and past players and if this contributed to our shaky form at the end of the season. Who knows.

Jackson spoke on the radio as if the club had already made the finals. Terrible content and timing. One of his few failings as a MFC administrator.

He did say "We are not there yet"

The Players need reigning in. Right now

Nothing wrong with what was said. It would have been done to try and get a psychological edge on the opponent. I'm sure St Kilda were talking it up also at different stages. Happens very game for every side. Makes for interesting reading but that's it

Yes i know he did. I heard him say it on SEN and 774

The Players have let PJ down

Jones should step down as Captain if the above quote is true.

He has not taught the players well

He did but he still went way too far with other comments. You never talk anything up as an administrator until its a done deal. At least Goodwin always had the sense to never say we have achieved anything until round 23 was completed. Others in the club seem to have got ahead of themselves going by some of the comms that came out

You maybe right. Now is the time to open all the dark closets. Because the attitude over the last month was visibly bad

on Saturday it stunk and must be removed, if that means officials, coaches or players must be moved on, so be it

we must have the attitude of Essendon in 2000 after they choked '99  PJ was there during that time

But is the MFC Strong enough??

Look I think they will learn their lesson but PJ with his experience should have been all over it but instead he contributed to it. As I said, one of his few failings but very surprised it happened at all. We will need to be stronger than any previous admin, coaching and player group to achieve the ultimate given the ingrained mediocrity and repeat behaviours of our club over the years gone by

wow they are writing articles about random sledges now?

the more people feed off this BS the more of it will come

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
