@Demonland  too early for the trade/draft board ?    just a thought :)

Agreed, probably a tad early considering we are on the verge of our first finals campaign in 11 years!!!

love the enthusiasm! @trakkkkkkkaaa - perhaps you can do a little spreadsheet of those that people want, and of those, ones that we may get, can get and don't get- based on all the existing threads...

ones that have been around for a while:

ADELAIDE

-          Lever being courted by Melbourne and Collingwood, and has already said no to Footscray

-          McGovern is being heavily courted by both WA clubs, but is likely to stay at Crows

-          Cameron wants to go to either Queensland side, preference is Bears

BRISBANE

-          Rockliff weighing up opportunities elsewhere – was previously likely to go to the Crows as a free agent, but is now more likely to stay at Brisbane

CARLTON

-          Gibbs still being talked off as a Crows target

COLLINGWOOD

-          Some talk that Sidebottom may be looking elsewhere

GEELONG

-          Motlop will leave, have heard Port Adelaide the most keen

GC17

-          Lynch is a strong possibility to request a trade, Carlton are heavily into him

GW$

-          Kelly has multiple suitors – Aints, Peptides, Caaaaaaaaaaaaarlton – but is likely to stay

-          Same for Hopper

-           Smith wants to go to the Cats

MELBOURNE

-          Hogan will always be talked about every year, but will stay

-          Frost may look for opportunity elsewhere, particularly if Lever comes in

NORTH MELBOURNE

-          Have eight players waiting on Neck Tatts

-          Goldstein’s $800k pay packet in 2018 is a major disincentive for the likes of Footscray to recruit him

PORT ADELAIDE

-          Pittard will stay

-          Trengove will go – Blues the most keen

RICHMOND

-          All roads lead through Dusty decision

ST. KILDA

-          Several players already told they’re on the chopping block, Jimmy Webster apparently ropeable about it

SYDNEY

-          Rohan again mentioned in dispatches earlier in the year, but will stay

WEST COAST

-          Have kept Shuey but Gaff is a possibility to be traded a year before he becomes a free agent

WESTERN BULLDOGS

-          Stringer and Libba are on the possibility list, if the right deal comes along

Would love to get gaff. Kent and a pick for gaff not sure where the pick will come from if we are spending our first on lever but gaff is what we need.

Is that because you rate him as a footballer or that he was a Demon growing up?

Gaff has some skills, yes. But he is the first to go missing when West Coast get wobbly

i reckon we need tougher players than Gaff

Gaff is a downhill skier and wouldn't come cheap

Boy just sent me a text:

Darren Jarman reported that Jake Lever is signed, sealed, delivered to the Dees

that was aj, not dj, on triple m adelaide yesterday

he's also the bloke who said clarkson was signed, sealed and delivered to the crows the day before pyke was announced as new senior coach

Simply cannot happen at this stage in the season - or even prior to the trade period.

Plenty of moving parts even if Lever wants to get to the Dees (which I highly doubt he has said to anyone, given that the Crows are on the verge of a finals campaign).

Rumour -

We trade Petracca to Hawthorn for Fitzpatrick (Not really concussed)

We swap Fitzpatrick to StKilda for Nick Reiwoldt (Not really retiring)

Reiwoldt to Adelaide for Mc Govern, Lever, Walker and their 1st pick.

Walker to Hawthorn for Petracca

Shoenmakers from Hawthorn to Bulldogs is getting some air time this week.

Gaff is an interesting one as he has a year to go on his contract. He is a Melbourne boy, would love to return home, the family are Demon supporters and he would love to play for MFC. I thought it would happen in 2018 but maybe happening earlier. Source, family friend.

Gets cheap kicks and lacks defence in his game. Too small and is limited. No thanks!

Gaff will be exposed at the Eagles next year with no Mitchell or Priddas, if he was smart he would get a deal done whilst he has some currency, wait a year and no one will want him.  Would fit into our side as we have the grunt players we need some out side polish.

A mark of where we are with the timing of this thread. Four years ago this thread would have begun after round 3.

He is a pure outside player that would complement the grunt our midfield has already. He is what we want billy stretch to turn out to be

ANB is starting to really get his act together. I think Billy can get there still.

Gaff is ok, but i have never seen him play well outside of Perth.

(He needs a home crowd to thrive)

Wrong round 1.

Actually at half time round 1.

I heard the rumour about Gaff a few months ago from a doctor who knows the Gaff family well. He is apparently super keen to return home and to play at the Dees.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
