GAMEDAY - Round 19

Featured Replies

YES they had the wind but those match up were not good enough.

T.Mac should have played back with the wind. Then swing him forward for the 2nd and 4th.

FFS!

Hope you have the hose ready at 1/4 time Goody.

Not good enough so far.

We'll mow that lead down in the no time.   They farted around with it too much with the wind.....

We will be 5 goals up at half time.

Our tackling has been awful.

It has been for about five weeks now.

We over-commit (see Melksham's missed tackle in our pocket) and opposition teams just step around us.

Tyson is about our only midfielder consistently winning the ball. The rest look like they penciled this in as a win before we arrived.

If they wanna play finals they better get this in order because this isn't close to good enough against a bottom 3 side. Idgaf about the wind

Relax.......  its at least a 4 goal breeze

But they are doing a good job of switching onto Jetta

Nothing to do with it. They are pushing us aside in the middle, breaking tackles and getting clear disposal. That was an extremely disappointing second half to the quarter. Intensity dropped significantly. They are deers in headlights and can't hold tackles.

Terrible choice not to play tmac as a defender when they have the breeze.

Poor Jetta matching up on Brown and Waite had no chance.

Hun website showing Brown 2 kicks for 2 goals. Milkshake and Hannan 1 disposal. Trenners 2.

(I'm following this from Samoa so too much detail is not enough guys - can't get AFL site).

Lets all relax and see how we go with the wind.

we really should be playing an extra tall in defence when they have the wind... Watts or T Mac or even Hogan

Very smart.

We are not a top 4 side.. lucky to scrape into the finals

Is this a joke? Put Tom back on Brown.

Also can we win a clearance? Gees we are awful sometimes.

Ben Brown must love playing against the Dees. Having a picnic.

We are being smashed in the midfield.

Oh look, Brown AGAIN.

FFS

If Lewis Is apparently 'directing' the defensive unit, he's got some work to do. Also, he's doing a good job of covering the hole but it's to no effect because we're getting smashed in one-on-ones.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
