their last 2 games have scored 78 and 80. Not once last year did they score over 100. 

They will need to play a mighty defensive game to keep the dees under 100

If they want to use Hunt forward, then I'd use him in the Jeffy role where he can use his pace to get over the back and score some easy goals.  I don't think any player in their back line will have the pace to go with him.

Which is exactly why they should do it.

You may be right though DC, as using him in that role would take away that dash further up the ground, but to me he is the closest thing to replacing what Garlett brings to the side and he would be good for at least 2-3 goals.

we will be doing very well to score 100 points

There have only been two teams that have scored in excess of 100 points in a night game at the MCG and they were in rounds 1 (Richmond) and 8 (Essendon) when the weather was a little better

Mind you MCG has not had that many night games this year

I think that playing White sends a message to the VFL players that you are never forgotten and if you do what you need to do, you will get a game if the need arises. 

Most of us would have picked half a dozen ahead of White so good on him for perservering, Trenners an emergency is promising also.

Its all about the strategy which will be revealed tomorrow. Hunt fwd sounds the most likely and White apparently has a terrific left boot.

Goody won't just sit him there all game though. Unlike the Tiges & EFC coaches (teams were predictable) ...he will rotate players around a lot so they (Swans) don't get too comfortable.

And we have plenty who they will rotate through there, too - Bugg, ANB, Harmes, Petracca - all of whom bring something different to the forward line.  They may even spring a surprise or two as well.  Either way our firepower is down, but our ability to be flexible and keep the pressure up hasn't diminished.

All three emergencies play for Casey against Port Melbourne the following day (and we will be the better for it)!

No we don't want it wet they play better in the wet. I was there last year at the SCG and it poured all-day and they played true wet weather football while we tried to play our play on at all cost game . We turned the ball over and gave them easy goals. SO NO RAIN PLEASE!!   

I genuinely think our speed will trouble the swans a lot, so if our pressure is up and our mids have a crack we should get the job done. 

Garletts pressure will be missed but hopefully the other boys step up to cover him. 

This group seems to have so much belief at the moment I just can't see us losing this game. We've set ourselves

Not necessarily, but yes, likely.

That's why they're called "emergencies".

And yes, "partly" an encouragement award, because it's highly likely only one would come in, so you can encourage the other two.  Like Dion Johnstone, who realistically isn't going to play under any circumstances.

Spot on, Chook.  Our backline is also pretty settled as well which holds us in good stead.

I'm still worried about where the goals will come from, with both Watts and Garlett out we lose our two leading goal kickers for the year, but I have faith that we can hit the scoreboard with enough regularity to keep the pressure on.

A few times this year I have been nonplussed and bewildered about selections, but each time the selections have had a positive outcome. Wagner in makes good sense, but my memories of White are of being underwhelmed by his performance. Watch this space I suppose.

On paper, we do look the weaker team, but we also look a lot quicker and our confidence is as high as theirs. With 3 forwards out, can we kick enough goals? This is the remaining question.
