POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 14

I can't believe we won that game! Missing key players to injury before and during the game, umpires against us, crowd feral, running out of legs.ย

Ive waited so long to see the red and blue show heart like thatย

I'm so happy I am in tears!ย

ย

Gutsย personified , have to leave Macca at Full forward now.

Viney was immense, back to his absolute best, so courageous with that shoulder and all.

We destroyed The Elsternwick Hotel....shaking too much to type anything else...except LWWWW

That pack mark by Pedo was outstanding. Doesn't matter how quiet a game, any player can effect the result

Tommy's last goal must be goal if week contender! Still calming down!

Massive massive winย

Sydney very beatable next week

ย

What a win. What a god damn mother loving win.

I'llย never speak another bad word about Tommy Mac. This is my vow.

I'm so stoked, I'm going to go with the poem I wrote for the game this morning ...

I love a sunburnt country,ย
A land of sweeping plains,ย
Where all roads head to its west,
And a stadiumย called "Domain",ย
I love her far horizons,ย
I love her quirky weather,ย
Where the beauty of herย western coast,
Is the home of Neville Jetta.

'Tis a bleak-hearted country,ย
A wilful, lavish landย
If your team has rarely won there,ย
You will clearly understandย
though Earth holds many splendours,ย
And days get darker and blacker,
All I ask the lord for tonight is winning smiles,ย
From Pedo, Buggy and Petracca.ย

A pity I couldn't find something to rhyme with Tom McDonald.ย

West coast wernt hobbled

tom mcdonald and his [censored] floaters...

Tom McDonald and HIS [censored] FLOATERS.

TOM [censored] MCDONALD AND HIS [censored] FLOATERS.

What a win.

How bl***y good was that?!?! Injuries from last week, injuries in the game, a huge crowd against us, ย and one of theย gutsiest wins in ghe last decade. Best win of the year for mine.

Jack Viney, I think I want to have your babies.

TMac - astonishing.

Pedo - you are a great late-game player.ย ย

They just keep getting better.

WE nailed a finals birth tonite.

Still feels surreal.

Haven't seen a better captain's game in my time following the Dees. There were eyebrows raised at the time, but that decision has been validated tonight. Big [censored] time.

And who said Tommy Mac couldn't play forward!! Kicks a bag of 5 including the match winner. Goodwin, take a bow!!!ย

He was originally drafted as a forward. Played early games in magoos there... Just didn't cement it in early days...lol

Worm turns

Wow 7 years of early UK morning starts to see 50 points thrashings on a regular basis, wiped out. That was the most fun I've had watching a game and there have been some crackers this year! Maybe it was because it was a bit later over here so the midday Fosters calmed me a little.

ย

We can win the flag

Epic battle alert. ย This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coachโ€™s showdownย pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% winย rate)ย againstย hisย protรฉgรฉ Daisy Pearce (16ย games,ย 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisyโ€™s record doesnโ€™t yet reflect her impact โ€” but sheโ€™s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Daisโ€™ย isย mythic. ย Likeย Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill herย (sporting metaphor) orย be her. ย Toothersย Daisy Pearceย isย a role model,ย someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chancesโ€”plenty of themโ€”but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Portโ€™s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmyโ€™s inclusive bannerโ€”"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwoodโ€™s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.ย

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.
