GAMEDAY - Round 14

Featured Replies

Umpiring's been off but we've benefited at times too (e.g. the "sling tackle").

That wasn't high from Garlett, nor did he throw it in a prior passage.

Wasn't much in it but I doubt Oliver will be fined, Rance's dive was 10 times worse last week and he got a free. Need to start turning our rare entries into 50 into goals.

Holy shizen I'm gonna get on a punch up the way this is going.

Eagles supporters are flogs.

Just win this Demons.

@binman, I have a % sign all drawn up in red and blue just ready for a big last qtr.

Forgot how much I dislike West Coast. Pack of crabs.

Crotch of crabs.

harmes ,pedo, bugg ,anb need to do more to help viney who is terrific

On the replay it looked at a bit of a soft blow.

Anyway we need more out of Petracca and Pedo. Maxy is having a great game back and Jack is just leading the way and having a blinder. Best half of footy he has ever played.

Is Oscar on Drew? Because he needs to tighten up on him big time. To many times there has been a mismatch with Jetta having to take him.

Sorry but when Watts comes back either Bugg or Neal Bullen have to go.

We need to take our opportunities when we get a shot on goal.

Let's not overlook Viney's greatest half of football ever.

Perfect.

best I've seen him play

Pedersen needs to lift or he will lose his spot to Watts next week.

Doubt we would drop someone for an average game on occasion

That McGovern tackle was fair and hard, we would applaud it if it was us doing it. And that free against Jeffy was bulltish, he dropped at knees like a $2 hooker.

We're leading in Perth despite having about 5 players with either no influence or playing awfully - Garlett, Pedersen and Melksham all struggling, Hunt and Oliver being tagged out of it.

I can't believe how good Gawn has been after a 10 week layoff. Viney playing his best game for a year, if not longer, Tyson dominating in the clearances.

ANB's decision to kick instead of pass to Bugg was a bad one. Hannan should have kicked his late shot too. Either of those give us a nicer buffer but I'm pleased to be leading in the circumstances.

And on that last skirmish, either Schofield is a dog or Oliver will be copping a fine for staging. I'd be surprised if Oliver would take a dive like that but it did not look like much contact, that's for sure.

Viney picking up the slack. Stepped up as captain. Awesome.

If Pedo can kick some with Jeffy we could win this. Oliver to fire up after elbow jab in the mouth,

Clarry staging is frustrating. I hate it in our game, and I hate seeing one of our own do it.

Oliver looks upset in the rooms

According to BigFooty it's because he's torched his reputation forever. I have a feeling he's regretting having dived.

Jack Viney has been Huge. Reckon Oliver will be fired up in the second half.

wish i was there would jump in belt em

We're in this right up to the eyeballs.

Carn boys

Jack Viney should have in no way been given the captaincy to handle by himself as evidenced by his efforts tonight as the sole captain...heh heh heh heh...ahhh for those who doubted - yer a bunch of flogs

Actually it was a perfect sling tackle. Arm pinned, spun and slung with no opportunity for the tackled player to protect the head hitting the turf, which it did. The only reason he wasn't reported is because Dom got straight up for the kick.

hopefully that hit on oliver will fire him and the team up. so they come out and play a lot better football than they have. Our defense has been good, but we need to kick those goals, need to be a lot cleaner with our possessions. and do tackles that stick. eagles players seem to be slipping out of our tackles too easily

Not his first time either.

Good thing is reckon we've still got quite a few that can play better

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
