  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Meth Coast's QC at the Schofield appeal has argued that Clarrie's sore jaw was from a seperate incident when Clarrie's jaw hit Schofield's back, but then didn't have any footage of said incident!

Not that it matters as based on the previous decision tonight even if he gets found guilty he'll be offered minus 2 games!

But racism is to blame in this case.

Thats the important message .

Yeah!!

The Afl stopped racism!!!

Hooray!!

Edit- end rant. read Nashers post- my point is more what constitutes as bona fide evidence at the MRP.

And, what, pray tell, is that? The MRP is a law unto itself. All the boa fides against Selwood would not have counted because Jimmy B would have exonerated him anyway. Nathan Burke more or less confessed that the MRP tries its darndest to get players 'OFF'. Unless, they wear Demon Guernseys, apparently.

What we need to do is stack the MRP with ex Melbourne players who will exonerate their mates no matter what the 'Bona Fides' are.

The panel was used as a political stage and the outcome was skewed because of it.

He had an excuse,a PM and a Logie winner  for an on field matter.

The next possible such case might claim a " wild Irish temper"  and the death of a childhood pet at a young age that spurs occasions of fisticuffs from some poor lad who decked someone on the field.

After allowing Basher Bachar to get away with 2 for KOing an opponent, it will be hard for the tribunal to do Schofield for more than 1 - it would be so inconsistent -> so it will probably be 4, to maintain their record.

So are the AFL going to ask for character references for every incident now, just in case he's a good bloke?

Apparently it makes all the difference.  Does that mean if Dusty fronts, Mme Chopsticks will be called and he will get 20 weeks?

Well, unless you're a Muslim, it works in our Penal system. How often do lawyers plead their client was under the influence of drugs, therefore not responsible for their actions?

Tribunal Farce continues: Schofield found not guilty!!!

Is this April 1st?   So basically they are saying that Oliver is a stager.  They have impugned his character forever.  Unforgivable.

Really, if our Dees were going as they had been the past decade, I would be right out of AFL altogether.  It is a sham!!

Based on tonight's tribunal results they are screaming out for clubs to appeal so they can sit and be paid and will happily overturn the long standing interpretations of the MRP.

The AFL continues to display the qualities of a true banana republic. Pseudo intellectuals, co-opted legal counsel all supported by a psychophantic media scrum. The people's game no more. Nothing feels or smells even half OK by the extraordinary events of the last 5 hours.

It all seems simple to me.

If you are a Melbourne player you get multiple weeks.

If you complete an offence against a Melbourne player you get off.

If you are about to,play Melbourne you get off.

If you are high in the Brownlow speculation you willl

 get off.

I know I am quoting myself but the verdict tonight is further proof. Yes now you can elbow a Melbourne player and it is his fault. Yes the agreesor is the victim and the player on the pointy end of the elbow is the villain. The media has set agendas but it always seems Melbourne is on the receiving end.

Basically they are saying

1/ the umpire is a liar

2/ Oliver is a liar

3/ the MFC doctor is a liar

4/ Schofield is a victim

Geez I hate the AFL HQ, and their front, Gill more than I thought I could ever do.

Just who was on the tribunal tonight? Ex players who believe in the old code and let Schofield off. Tonight made no sense both for Houli or Schofield to get off so lightly, perhaps Houli getting 2 meant they couldn't give Schofield the same penalty.

I think we all believe that a Melbourne player would not have been dealt with so leniently. I think even less of West Coast with their defence belittling both Clarry and the umpire who laid the report. The MRP have no credibility

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
