Post Match Discussion - Round 13

That was the performance we have threatened to have all year, our only 4 quarter performance thus far.

Some great performances...

Hibberd - what a pick up

Salem - I honestly think he is the most underrated player at the club. Many think he is decent, but I rate him higher than that.

OMac - was great last week after quarter time, and was great again today

Fuggin awesome win buy the mongrel Demons ova the purebreds. I have'nt seen a Melbourne Team play with that intensity since....cannot remember. Such an even spread of effort from all the boys, but for mine Omac and the hibb were outstanding.

Well we just flogged the reigning premiers on their home deck

Three wins in a row

Top 4 a real possibility

Gawn and Hogan to come back in

Go Deez

I actually think we play this ground better than the G.

OMac starting to overtake Frost - as Frost is going from solid to damaging

Oscar McDonald the boy has now become a man.

23 touches, 12 marks and countless spoils, not to mention plenty of aggression at the contest.  Fantastic stuff.

Where's STMJ??

I'm blown away by today. Almost more than Crows game. Hard to remember a time I've loved my club more.

How boring is this 4 quarter effort rubbish. My heart rate barely got out of a canter.

Looking for a negative.  I'm sure he'll find one and give us a 9 paragraph dissertation about it.

Roo's votes Watts 1

                 Salem 2

              hibberd  3

Pretty close I'd say, but almost impossible to call. So many of the boys contributed amazingly well today. What a win for both the AFL and VFL teams!!!

I'd like to hear @mo64's views on the game, too.

I swear, I've never seen him/her post anything positive, ever. Not once.

@stevethemanjordan at least has players he likes and will pump up.

So am I after that performance.

Waiting for that, Wise....I thought Ethan or Biffen might have beaten you on that one! :)

Darn right.

I'm not even sure I can absorb what just happened.

How sad is it that going into the last 50 points up and was still a touch nervous. Classic MFCSS!

that said, this team is made of sterner stuff than any I can remember since the Northey days.

thrilled with how we are looking, this team could really have a crack in what is one of the most open years in history.

BTW, loving how Salem is going, but not a bit surprised

4 quarter effort, best part was they kept chasing and harassing even when our rotations were reduced.

No passengers today, I have a feeling if there are changes it will be player management more than anything. Really glad that Hunt got back out there, he'll be important at Subi, and same for Jetta.

Very tough to decide who gets the votes today. Very even across the board. Hibberd was outstanding, Salem didn't waste a disposal, OMac looked exceptional (for me his most even game).

A very big win for many reasons, for one I think it now puts us in a position for challenging for lofty spots, our % got a great boost, it was against another finals contender and last years premiers, and without two of our most important players in Gawn and Hogan.

5th spot at this point of the year is fantastic. No fear in this team either, we should've beaten the Eagles on their own turf last year, we can definitely do it this year.

Watts on MMM

Hammie is sore but not hurt, was taken off precautionary.

Bugg post, he and JJ are good mates. Mystery solved.

Watts said hamstring tightness should be right for nect week

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
