Just feel like a rant, but I'm really over the Cats just in general. Give them credit with their drought breaking flag in 2007 and follow up flags in 2009 and 2011, but now just over that club.

The arrogance of Danger, Selwood and Hawkins drives me nuts plus a whinger of a coach. Sick of the AFL bending over backwards for this club and all there prime time viewing they get, one could argue there Geelong supporter media influence could contribute.

i really hope we rise quickly and start bullying them for a long time to come.

They're a team propped up by two players. That's not sustainable, and when one goes down with injury or they both begin to decline, they are farked.

I would love to see the Dees dominate the Cats for the next decade. I'll never forget that 186 point defeat down at the Cattery. It's our time to shine!

Yep, 186 and the huge belting at the hands of Essendon are games I most want revenge for.

Hibberd has been good revenge for that game.

Would love to see a few beltings though.

Dangerfield and Hawkins have another 3-5 years at least barring injuries.

Cats have done a wonderful stadium deal and they are favoured by FTA broadcasters.

From a population/fan base they are in a fast growing area. Combine that with their high traditional following.

Good drafting will see them remain in the top 6 for the next 4-5 years so we will have to be good to get to their standard let alone dominate them.

Essendon is perhaps as easier target but not simple. Let's start by beating North for the fist time in years.

Truth is we have a very long way to go before we dominate anyone. (Although we could start the group think that we now dominate Collingwood.)

Heavy reliance on two players. I am not sure about their decline. Playing at the Cattery is a huge home ground advantage and gifts them many wins. So I suspect that the Cats are going to be in the mix for a long time, but not premiers or serious flag contenders unless they draft some real talent. No doubt this will be the focus of their recruiters and footy department.

Haha you might never forget it but it is etched in my memory. Was my birthday and my now wife got me tickets and booked a hotel so we could stick around after the game.

The game against them this year infuriated me the most, we were so clearly the better team in general play but for our choke kicking for goal which cost us victory even with being 2 players down for 3 qtrs and running out of gas in the last.

like Hawthorn their development strategy is just get everyone else players already developed. just keep topping up. Danger and next year Ablett will have fallen into their laps. I agree they can go down the bottom.

Closet Cats supporter here. 

The cats are beatable and deservedly so. State Government money went a long way to rebuilding Kardinia Park, with still no seating for opposition supporters. No wonder they want to play Finals down there. 

Hopefully we meet them in September...

Geelong EASILY have the best fixture out of any club every year. It's not really their fault, in fact they've done extremely well off the field to get to where they are. But facts are facts.

8 home games a year with 95% crowd support, tricky winds and narrow dimensions is an enormous advantage and on a par with the interstate team home grounds. The one hour drive is tricky too - clubs have tried doing it on the day, others stay the night before, with little success.

Then they get another 9 or so games in Melbourne where they have a large fanbase and is easily accessible for locals. Crowds are often 50/50 or weighted in Geelong's favour and the grounds don't pose any 'foreign' conditions.

Then they travel 5 or so times like all Vic teams do.

They have a significant advantage over Victorian teams, whose home games are often neutral, and interstate teams, who travel every second week.

It's little wonder they have never finished in the bottom 4.

Geelong are a protected species. But like Hawthorn their dominance will come to an end. Probably much quicker than Hawthorn because they rely on 2 players so much. Take out Dangerwood and they really are a very ordinary side. With an even more ordinary coach.

You should really see someone about your mental wellbeing....

They are the slowest team in the league.  I expect them to lose tonight, and while it's still a little way until September, will expect them to go out in straight sets in the finals (whether that's 1 final they play or 2).

They aren't much good.  The would not have won their past 3 if those games were played on bigger grounds.

With the addition of Ablett jr next year it will be a team propped up by 3 players.

Another nightmare round for the tipsters among us.

Round starts off with the battle of the forwardless teams.. could be interesting but on their home turf I think the Eagles should do it by a small margin... say 14 points

Exactly. With Hawthorn and Sydney they have gone out of their way to get ready made players from other clubs.

One thing that really gets me is the tv broadcasts of their games. Is Mcevany one of Dangerfields or Selwoods  diapers. It is disgusting to listen to him.

I  hate to say it but we need geelong to beat the eagles tonite.
