Video is finished and uploaded.

I haven't ranked them in order as that is a just about impossible task.

So many great goals missed out, but thanks again for your help and suggestions.

Enjoy.

Great compilation - a mix of clutch moments in games (how calm was Jeff White?) and just miracle goals.

Funny how to passage of time becomes blurry after a while.  I had to double take when I saw Dean Kent on screen in one of the Flash goals.  Hard to believe Flash has only been off the list for four years, that feels like a bloody lifetime ago.

Fantastic work Ash. The vid brings back so many memories. The late, great Robbie Flower is poetry in motion.

Fanatastic stuff Ash. Some great memories there. You are an honorary dee i'm afraid. Have you made a similar EFC compilation?

If i may offer one possible improvement, it would be great to have text with the the year and round for each goal.

I have plenty of EFC type videos. I want to do quite a few different clubs, but thought I'd start with the Demons Goals video.

I thought about doing text with Player, year, Round and opponent for each goal, but I'm a bit lazy. lol

50 isn't enough, there were a stack of great goals that didn't make it. There was at least another 10 that I had to chop.

It did turn into a mixture of clutch (Froggy 1964 GF, White vs WB, Leoncelli vs Adel 2001) and just sheer brilliance.

I could have focused on significant and clutch a bit more, include more of the significant finals goals for example, or Rd 22 1987, but I wanted to include a lot of the skilful freakish goals over the years.

A tough task narrowing it down to 50, but I enjoyed it and I hope you all enjoy the memories.

That was awesome, great job.

Statistics tell me from watching that, we kick great goals when we're losing.

How quickly I have forgotten the brilliance and skill of Aaron Davey, Travis Johnstone, and Adem Yze.

The footage of Robbie still gets me teary - still the best Dees player I have ever seen. There is something divine or ephemeral about him that makes all other players look like orange cones.

The physical impact of Barrassi, Neitz and Shwartz.

Ash, you have made my night - thanks for all your work.

Flash was something else prior to that hammy at Etihad. I`d say all those goals were pretty early in his career, what a star he was.

Great work Ash, I`ll be watching that over and over!

Well, there could be worse things to watch on a bye weekend for the Dees.

Ash, top effort mate. Made the lack of footy over the bye just that bit more pleasurable.

one request - can we get Trac's goal in fro QB last year where he spins away  from (I think it was) Sinclair? I can see myself watching this several times!

Loved every minute of that - thanks so much.

Great work, Ash

Wow....I always remember Jako and Jurrah as wasted (or unfulfilled) talent but I had forgotten just how good Sean Charles could have been had he stayed on track. Co-incidentally wasn't it dome form of wrist fracture that contributed to the demise of both Jurrah and Charles, taking them away from the stability of the club onto errant ways.

An absolute ripping video which will keep Melbourne in the public eye through the years to come. I always felt that part of our demise in the 60's was because there was no video record of our greatness, whilst teams like richmond collwd carlton essendon and hawthorn got endlessly played and replayed on television through the decades. as a result we lost many potential supporters andd those teams gained supporter armies whose kids went onto follow the same teams.

Nice one.

I remember that Charles goal against WC like it was yesterday. '93 I think it was? They were flag favourites and we were struggling but we smashed them that day. Beat the Bombers as well that year...but lost to Sydney lol Typical Melbourne!

Had a few handy types over the years.....may that continue.

Cheers Ash.

Melbourne have seemed to have had some mercurial forwards in my lifetime, more than most teams.

Imagine a forward line of Jakovich, Farmer, Aaron Davey, Sean Charles & Jurrah.

You'd pay 4 times the admission price to watch it every week.

The Charles goal was in 1994.

You did beat WCE in 1993 though, the game where Allen Jakovich kissed his brother Glen after slotting the sealer.

And yep, beat us in 1993, but handed Sydney their first win for the year.

Is that the actual goal where Jako kisses Glenn in the above Video?

Nope.

You'd be amazed how quickly 50 goals is used up.

As I said, a lot missed the cut that I would have loved to included.

There were at least another 5 from Farmer that could have made it (including 1996 vs Fitzroy, 2000 vs Geelong at KP), a couple from Yze and Jakovich, Schwarz in the 1994 QF vs Carlton, Lynden Dunn mid air soccer goal vs North in 2010, Kevin Dyson goal from the boundary 55m out vs Geelong in 1993, Andrew Lamprill match winning snap against the Cats in Rd 2 1992, plus any number of significant goals from finals and Rd 22 1987.

Garry Lyon kicked a left foot banana in the same game in 1994 vs WCE that the Sean Charles goal is from, the same spot that Wayne Carey kicked his amazing goal against Essendon in 1999. Everyone goes on about Careys goal but Lyons doesn't ever get mentioned.

This could have been a top 70 goals and some would have still missed out.

As an editor myself I say just keep adding to it. Put as many highlights on Youtube as you can

otherwise they will never be seen

i have about 6 hours on VHS from the Northey Era, but i need a DVD Drive to transfer it all online...

a greatest goals part 2 video, ash?......................btw great effort and thanks

Great video. It makes you sit back and wonder about goals over the years. I always remember the few games that Rod Owen played for us. He used to kick some rippers.

Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
