Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Why do I have this feeling like we're back to shuffling deck chairs around?

I like Harmes for Weids, only because Weids needs time in the VFL. I don't know that it'll be much of an upgrade. Kent needed to go, he's got to learn to commit more, he's been really disappointing of late. I know people don't like Melksham but he's solid and brings maturity to the team.

I've tipped us with zero confidence, that said with GAblett out we should have the midfield dominance and the players should have been given a firecracker up their asses this week after their poor showing v North. This is a must win if we are to have any hope of glimpsing finals footy.

We've been in every game so far this year.  True, we've lost a couple we should have won, but we are a threat to every team in the comp when we're on.

But to each their own.

Being in games isnt enough Wise.

Finals sides win games they should.

We dont. At least not consistently. We are looking at yet another top 10 pick, maybe even top 5, and I think it's a disgrace for a side whos CEO hinted at finals LAST year.

GAJ's psychologist informed his club that he was having psychotic paranoia outbursts at the prospect of facing Jack Viney again. Too many shadows to jump at. So he can't make it this week.

I can't argue that we should have won more games than we should, but we are no pushovers.  If it clicks and we sneak into the finals then I would expect that no side would want to play us.  Our win over Adelaide is proof that when we play well we can beat anyone in the comp.

I seem to recall you saying similar about the Kangas last week Biffen. I believe the word 'shaft' was used as a verb.

Come on, DC. Settle down. :P

This first quarter against Geelong is quite similar to our first against Adelaide.

Who fancies taking up the challenge of finding a named starting forward line in recent history consisting of one player over 190cm and no-one above 193cm?

The cupboards are bare. But if there was something on the top shelf we wouldn't be able to reach up and grab it anyway.

While Norf treats us with utter contempt, we wont be bothering anyone in finals.

Im not sure really any team sees us as a threat. An inconsistent stumbling block...yes

We'll win a few as a result of our up/down form but not through any team capitulating in fear

Totally disagree, but I'm wasting my time.

Ditto for you, too.  We aren't pushovers and can match it with anyone.

I'm looking forward to playing Port. I reckon we both play a very similar style.

From a statistical KPI perspective, we're actually a very close match with Gold Coast - except we have a massive advantage in tackles. Exactly where we need to win this match.

Well not really WB....most teams turn up before qtr time

When we start matching teams mentally for 120 mins ...maybe.

Hasn't happened once this year.

What team matches another mentally for an entire game, every week, for 120 minutes?  No team is THAT good.  Every team has flat periods in a game, ours have just been a little longer than they should be during some games.

The Adelaide game is proof we can do it, while the North game is an example of that inconsistency.  Every game is also proof that we aren't pushovers and we will be in every contest.

We brought our game to Adelaide for effectively 90 out of 120 mins.

We did very very well as a result.

Most games this year wed be lucky to put more than 70 mins of top effort. Its a big reason we give away starts..a reason we let teams back into games and cant finish off.

We've lost many a game because our opponent when pushed found another gear , starved us of oxygen with their dust.

I dont relish any of this.I doubt the team does. Only they can do anything about it.

Finals bound teams will apply themselves longer than those they plat. Premiership teams...even longer.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
