#zanotti reporting that he will sign for Sydney.  Personally I'm not the fazed.

Has been doing the twitter rounds this afternoon. Apparently Jones and Reid to re-sign long term

I would see him as an 7.5/10 player.   A good foot soldier but not a star.

IF the price is right, yes.  But not a must.

If not Zac, who then?

We need a mid with line breaking speed. Outside run

J Kelly?

4 years according to Mick Warner.

Wouldn't be in our best 22 even if we did get him.

Would just be depth.

Personally I would have been over the moon if we'd landed Zac. Bernie and Jordan in their last year or 2 .....we need some mids.

Salem or Zac Jones is a tough choice but I reckon Zac could be as good as his big brother in a few years injury free . He has great handball skills is quick tough and a good kick and above all else super competitive. All though Nath has carried a disfunctional team -who knows how resilient people are until they have done it as has our great captain .

If Salem can get some continuity he could be anything .

Take the red n blue glasses off mate. Zac would be best 22 and has 8-10 years of best 22 ahead of him at swans. His high draft pick and the reported 4 year deal is reflective of how he is valued.

LOL. Last offseason Zanotti said he was 99% sure Rockliff was going to be traded to Melbourne in a deal involving Lynden Dunn. I private messaged him pestering him about where he'd gotten his sources from and he said he'd make an apology post if he was wrong. Got blocked a few days later.

If you'd just held off around 90seconds.... :)

But wait I thought he was certain to be a demon! Didn't his body language clearly state he wanted to play with his brother?

Just having a laugh, knowing how loyal Nathan it's hardly surprising to find out his younger brother is the same.

Heard on the radio this morning that he's warming to playing with us next year.

Heard from someone who claimed to have a very good source that he has already committed to Saints.

For all I know that source could be the X of X's X's X X X.... When I said that to him he got very adamant. As most people do with such an impeccable source.

melbourne the location or melbourne the club?

Zac is a good NQR player or as Jack Dyer would have said, a good ordinary footballer. Not a criticism.Would not want to give up too much for him.

Would definitely have a role to play in our best 22, but he is far from a star or match winner.

Will be interesting to see what his trade value is...

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
