Thanks for collecting all that info, I T.

Hope it helps posters/readers do easy comparisons of trends and where we are at.

So according to LH's and I.T's excellent info and table we hit our current total sometime in week 4 of January this year and early March the year before. It will be interesting to see if we end up with significantly more members or people are just renewing earlier. Either way there is a fair bit of excitement out there for the 2017 Demons

If you look at the historical data we get around 12,000 people join from Jan-June.  Hitting 27297 by end Nov is great, we should push above 30,000 prior to Christmas which really sets the club up to hit 40-45,000 for the year.  Lets say 42,500 an extra 3300 members or in revenue terms about 600K

I guess the worry there is that there may be a percentage of those  12,000 who normally join during the season proper have become enthusiastic and gotten in earlier than they normally would have...

Whilst you may well be right, that sure is a 'glass half empty' way of lookin at things. Come on, only positive vibes around here!

Until we come out and get slaughtered in round 1... Then yeh... Bring on the negativity.

We're pretty much on last year's tally for 1st week of Feb. At this rate we should certainly crack 30,000 prior to Christmas. Based on previous years rates of increase we are definitely going to crack 40000 this year and should be looking at somewhere around 43,000 or more.

40,000 will be broken this coming year.

If we get off to a good start, we'll give 45,000 a serious shake too

Got an email from the Club today that if you renew today you could be one of ten to get an MFC cap.

So I've renewed. Thought I should put it up here in case anyone else wants to go for a cap as well.

Personally I'd prefer a cap to a scarf. I have masses of them. I have raised this with the Club for years but they won't change. I don't know why they don't change it up a bit every few years. The Swans do caps instead of scarves.

it's a fair point it. caps would also be better advertising/branding because they are more likely to be worn and therefore seen on more occasions. people wear caps all year round and in many more situations.

And please IT if you do win one - and I hope you do- please, please wear it the right way round (you know, with the peak facing the front)!

I wish the club would issue a deerstalker.

Imagine the potential advertising on the flaps.

After sustaining a torn ACL in the final match of the 2023 season Jake added a bit to the attack late in the 2024 season upon his return. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. 2024 Player Reviews: #42 Daniel Turner

The move of “Disco” to a key forward post looks like bearing fruit. Turner has good hands, moves well and appears to be learning the forward craft well. Will be an interesting watch in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #13 Clayton Oliver

Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. He carried injury right through the back half of the season and was controversially involved in a potential move during the trade period that was ultimately shut down by the club. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

Melbourne’s most important player who dominated the first half of the season until his untimely injury in the Kings Birthday clash put an end to his season. At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury.
