Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Quite funny how Robbo never had an article pondering why none of the players admitted to ASADA interviewers about receiving off-site injections. Every single player, to a fault, lied when questioned about whether they were receiving injections.

I guess that's just an inconvenient element of the "good guy" narrative we'll sweep to the side, hey?

I read Robbo's article in Saturday's Hun, and I think it was ridiculous. His logic was abysmal. HOWEVER - I heard him on SEN on Thursday afternoon and he did say, that when he read that none of the players had admitted to receiving injections, - that constituted, in his words - "a game changer" for him. I don't know if he ever wrote an article to that effect.

That he would express that view and then write Saturday's article is quite incomprehensible.

I have posted on here before that i know players who write down the serial numbers and take photos of the bottles of any substances they take for their records, this is strongly encouraged by their management and taught at under age level.

i find it extremely hard to believe that 34 Essendon players didn't know exactly what they were taking, if they were lied to that's a different thing but the evidence and results in the cases doesn't at all point to that being the case, it points to a whole club effort to muddy the waters to the point no one can be sure what happened, and hope that means no one can be found guilty.

lets remember that if any 1 of the 34 players could have produced compelling recorded evidence that they took something other than TB4 they would have been found not guilty, but clearly they had absolutely no idea, or they did and they hid it, either way it's the same outcome, they miss a year of footy and they're known as drug cheats, Jobe has handed down the brownlow, so i'd say they've served their time.

Unsurprising. An inconvenient truth that completely destroys the entire narrative he's spent years fabricating. So what does he do? Sweep it under the rug, pretend it never happened, and within 24 hours he continues on his merry way!

First rule of media propaganda: ignore the facts that don't suit your agenda.

I'm trying to see your point of view on the topic but is this your main point of contention? That ASADA have fabricated evidence or rigged the system to find the players guilty?

At no point has any player accused ASADA of fabricating evidence. No player has ever denied lying to interviewers about their off-site injections. If ASADA were inventing evidence to find them guilty, would every player and their pet dogs not be screaming about this to the media? Would there not have been a reference to such an accusation in any of the multiple court cases over the years? And would the media narrative not be slightly more substantial than, "they were all duped, but they're all really great blokes"?

I'm not saying ASADA are infallible; I think they've been made to look fairly incompetent throughout this entire saga, largely due to the endless obstacles and roadblocks put in place by both Essendon and (more discretely) the AFL. Not one party involved with the AFL has made the process easy for them, obfuscating at every turn (not to mention tip-offs to destroy evidence before investigators had a chance to reach Windy Hill).

rigged a system, that sounds a little like a certain tribunal that used an incorrect standard of proof seemingly in the hope that it would make the issue go away, and since then every other court has found the opposite outcome.

ASADA were really up against it in this case, absolutely nobody wanted them to get to the bottom of it and unleash the dirty secrets into the light of day, they haven't been perfect but they got the job done and in my opinion got the correct result despite the tip off, constant leaking to cause a media storm against them which is a big part of why people say things about ASADA and the AFL tribunal which in my opinion used the wrong standard of proof to get a result.

Just heard that Tanya Hird and Jams hird are not together anymore. Tanya Hird attended a function for ex AFL players WAGS (women who used to date AFL players but no longer do - Sounds like a secret society ;)).

Not surprised at all really that (if true) she is leaving him. [redacted]

If someone else has mentioned this sorry for re-reporting it.

Fair go Satyr. The military industrial complex has been busy making sure the truth about 9/11 and the international Jewish bank conglomerate/world government never comes out.

Even though they control the whole world, they still have limited resources. They've only just now got to item #3 (Zaka and his "fear of needles").

Not forgetting fooling the world population on a day to day basis including sixty million white American males and females into voting for a lunatic and then employing them to build a wall, albeit gainfully employed....

Asked whether 2012 runners-up Mitchell and Cotchin should be recognised as winners, Watson added: “No I don’t.”

i Can't understand why the two fairest and best players of 2012 don't deserve medals, Watson cheated and they shouldn't miss out on the best individual award in the game and any extras it provides because he's only just started doing the right thing.

if you want a strong indication that Watson is in no way contrite, you just have to read that.

Exactly.. if he was returning the medal for as he claims " the integrity of the award and what it stands for" he would understand it should be awarded to the most deserving player or players instead of him, and he's also admitting a level of guilt and that he doesn't fit that bill, this is close to proof in my eyes that he's been given a nudge to hand it back rather than actually wanting to do the right thing.

I heard Slobbo on SEN earlier this afternoon. It made my blood boil that such a man can be the main voice of the Football Paper. His reasoning is so flawed.

Watson as Captain would have been fully informed of "The Black Ops" and then we have all 34 who ommitted information on WADA forms. All of them ommitted the same information.

Collusion...and still they are treated as Heroes...

If the AFL give medals to Mitchell & Cotchin, then those players can presumably sue for lost earnings, loss of enjoyment of life, etc etc.

AFL don't want that.

If the AFL don't give medals for 2012, the record books will always have that empty line there. In years to come ... 50 or 100 even ... people will want to know why. And they will remember what EFC and the AFL did in the years 2011-2016.

The AFL DEFINITELY don't want that.

Yup, and Cotchin has already said he'd take a medal if it was offered and Mitchell had a huge grin when asked so clearly they're both keen on it.

that's why they wanted them to appear at the hearing tomorrow.........so they could do a signed confidential deal (they can't do anything without a "deal")

Every time he seems to be edging towards the truth, and therefore the realisation that his heroes have feet of clay, he retreats to his standard duped/rogue scientist/good blokes defence.

The guy must be on the edge of sanity.

It would be enough to drive a lesser man to drink.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
