The Wiz is one of my all time favourites growing up. To think my boy could grow up watching his boy in red and blue is special.

The Freon Demons sound like a workplace team of a fridge repair company.

Now I know Jeff's filled out a bit but I'd hope he isn't the size of a fridge yet.

Then again, hasn't stopped Darren Jarman's kid getting drafted this year.

So what year would the young Farmer come up for the draft? 2019?

Probably 2020 if he is in year 8 this year, as per the OP

Just don't let Fremantle have him!

I keep reading they are Dee fans through and through.

Can't see him going anywhere else.

Didnt the Wiz just move his family to Melbourne from Perth? Thought he said that in a  recent interview.

Hes definitely a Dees supporter, thats for sure.

Kobe Farmer, what a name.

Raising Wagyu cattle would be the way to go if footy doesn't work out surely.

Jeff farmer has bought a house and is living in wantirna in melbourne .

If the Wiz has a kid that can play it will be for Melbourne. I have had a few beers with him one night. He regrets leaving the Dees and I'm sure would push his kid that way. He LOVES the Melbourne Football Club.

When I read this thread title my first thought was whether it was story about a Japanese agriculturalist who supported AFL.

I have no idea how old he is but I've never been more excited about a potential Demon.

Its the Wizs son for christs sake, and his name is Kobe.

He's destined for greatness.

ps.  Anyone know how old he is and what club hes playing for?

I once bumped into the Wiz lining up for the toilets at subi oval. He wasn't wearing any colours though so I asked him where his allegiance lied. He didn't hesitate - Melbourne

I would like this post even if it was a total lie.

The Wiz was the most exciting player I have seen at the Dees in my time...

He definitely got the turnstiles working at the G.

I couldnt beleive it when he went to Freo. I can only remember his time at the Dees other than the goal he kicked for Freo after the siren to beat us.

Wow! Kobe Farmer in the Red & Blue. I would love too see that...

Lets put it this way.

I have more confidence that he would choose to play for us if his dad is pushing our way, than if he was doing the same for Freo.

How cool would it be the have another Wiz running around jumping on peoples heads again?

Yep - no dispute there.  It's only the degree of "more confidence" that I'm arguing.  I love arguing grey positions :-)

I would love to see Wiz Jr running around in MFC colours (assuming his son is the same sort of player!) Probably my favourite player through my teenage years.

That has to be the most Gentleman-like argument I've seen on here.

Hats off to you both ;)

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
