I really hope this isn't true. Next year's draft is said to be a lot stronger than this one. We should be aiming for more first round picks next year, not trading ours off. Tell them they can have Dunn and Lamumba for The Rock. Much better for us.

The majority of our talent are aged 23 and under. Gawn is 24, how many picks is enough?

Absolute can not believe the news I've got this morning.

Brisbane and Melbourne have agreed on handshake that rockliff will come to Melbourne for Dunn. We will give our first rounder for next year to Brisbane (which we bank on being 9-13) for Brisbane priority pick this year (19) as well as turning our second round pick (29) into a pick in mid 30s, which Brisbane are trying to get their hands on before end of trade week.

This is also delaying the Hibberd deal.

Brisbane will pay a portion of the salary. The only things holding this deal up are Brisbane not having a mid 30s pick yet, and rockliff not having results from a medical back yet.

Melbourne in- rockliff, end of round 1 pick (19); mid 30s pick.

Out, Dunn, 2017 Rd 1 pick (9-13) 2016 Rd 2 pick) 29

Source- both the new Brisbane football operations manager; and my uncle, fitzroy great, Brisbane scout and father of current afl captain. Oh and for any sceptics which I'm sure there are, this is out of the mouth of both.

Well if this eventuates you would shoot to the top of the DL rumor charts. Incredibly detailed and name sources. Gold standard rumor posting. Well done sir (even if it falls over!)

If we somehow land Hibberd, Lewis and Rockliff we should be aiming for the top 4 next season.

Will get the first 2 very much doubt we will have the currency to get Rockliff.

I reckon if all of this comes to fruition, we should be aiming for between 5th-8th.

Come the end of 2017, if we achieve that goal, I'll back our FD to land a big fish and go into 2018 with the aim of the top 4 and anything is possible in 2018. Given we started our rebuild under Roos in 2014, that's an incredible turn around.

Just on Rockliff. If anyone believes Jones, Viney and (fingers crossed) Lewis would put up with any shenanigans from Rockliff, they're sorely mistaken. So I don't see anything wrong with this deal. In fact, it excites the hell out of me.

Just on generation dee, wasn't he the guy that said Dangerfield was 99% coming to us in 2014? And I can't see any evidence of his uncle (easy to work out who) working at Brisbane as a scout.

Just don't want you all getting your hopes up. The 'Brisbane needing a pick in the 30s' is an easy out if it doesn't eventuate.

Hope he's right though.

Lewis and Rockliff with Viney, Jones, Tyson and Clarrie gives us a seriously hard midfield.

Brayshaw and Petracca aren't exactly mugs in the physicality stakes either. That midfield has a really good balance of ball-winning-ability, youth and experience.

Rockliff, Viney, Lewis, Jones, Tyson.. Contested possession counter just broke!

And what have we heard for the past 12 months? "Building from the contest out". Adding Lewis and Rockliff simply adds to the much-needed experience in our engine room.

And who says we won't be able to get back into next year's first round if we really want to? People need to start trusting our FD. They have pulled some seriously amazing moves in the past 2-3 years.

Picking up Lewis and Rockliff also allows Bernie Vince to play exclusively as an outside mid where he will be even more dangerous

Yep, great point. And Salem. Then you layer your midfield with fast outside ball users in Hunt and Stretch. I'd be targeting one more of these runners at the end of 2017 too. That could be the big fish. I'd be after a slightly younger Isaac Smith. :P

Doesn't make us better if we want to play finals next year and for the next 5 years after that with this group of players. We have enough young guns at present.

Agree with this.

The fact Clayton Oliver and Sam Weideman play almost all next season as a 19 year old makes me feel ok about trading next years first rounder for Rocky, and even our 2nd rounder if that went too.

We are so young, and two of our most prized assets will be almost the same age as next years draftees when they are drafted.

It bodes really well for the club that solid citizens from other afl clubs are looking at coming on board - it'll fast track the growth of individuals from a leadership, tactical and ip perspective. 2016 (and the subsequent years) was already looking exciting - this is adding the cream to it.

I have no idea about the truth of the Rockliff rumour but some are forgetting how good he is.

He would start round 1 as our best or at least equal best midfielder.

Thanks mate but again I'm not looking for anything other than sharing news I get with other dees supporters.

I already had a call telling me to delete my post, apparently someone shared it on fb too. So can you guys just keep it quiet so it doesn't get out? ?

There are a few kinks in his game that I'd want to iron out if I was the FD, but certainly completely underrated in these parts.

For mine, he needs to be a far more damaging with the ball in hand from midfield. He can kick goals, he can rack up possessions, but if those possessions aren't really to the advantage of team mates or the team, then he's another Nathan Jones prior to Roos coming on board.

There is literally always one. I'm.not trying to be a hero, just keeping people in the loop with what I hear.

Do us both a favour and don't read my posts then, I don't mind.

Nope, can confirm Harry dear, from adelaide, wants to move back to Victoria. Dees been all up in his grill since mid season. Unfortunately carlton want him with Gibbs trade. Not sure how that plays out but I know he is very keen on getting to Melbourne. I've heard he has toured but again, can't get any confirmation from my Melbourne connections.

Would definately take Dear, wouldn't cost much either.

Already ordered my Rockliff badge and just about to add his number to my duffle coat. Is that wrong?
