I've often wondered about the correlation between Craig Cameron's recruiting 'work' with us and his subsequent 'success' rate with The Tigers... he's the common denominator at both teams .

Perhaps someone with more time than me on their hands could plot a graph of hits and misses with recruiting under his watch.. I suspect it won't be flattering.

I thought he did an ordinary job here and I couldn't work out why Richmond poached him and were so excited about it. He's an ordinary recruiter. His track record speaks for itself.

I say:

Members of long-standing Richmond families, including the Mandies, the Silks, the Ralphs and the Clemengers, attended the Malvern Hotel dinner along with former club orthopedic surgeon Hayden Morris, doctor David Marsh, private investor Peter Capp, IT executive Leon Davies, senior legal partner Guy O'Connor and businessman Guy Nelson.

I still don't know what you're talking about, Tone.

I think there is enough anecdotal evidence to suggest that AFL coaching leads to grey hair.

I'm no medical professional so I will not comment on the stress/cancer debate. One thing I have read is that Immunoglobulin A levels decrease for 6 hours after 5 minutes of stress or anger so most AFL coaches would have a shitty immune system after each game.

It all adds up tho Daisy....All the factors you bought up are part of the job.

You reckon Hardwick is sleeping well this week?

there you go changing the goal posts. bad diet is not stress. bad sleep patterns is not necessarily stress, failure to exercise is not stress

No but they are all connected to the job and add up as a cumulative of that stress

That's just wild, ridiculous speculation.

SWYL - linking Dean Bailey's death with Hardwick's decision on whether to carry on coaching is up there with the best nonsense I've heard on this forum. What about Leppitsch? Should he quit, just in case he gets cancer? What about all the other, literally, hundreds of VFL/AFL coaches who have coached through shocking pressure and not got cancer?

Saty - 'Mitigating' means to reduce, not to increase.

I was using as mitigating the odds of you getting it

Malcolm Speed is one tip to be the President of the new board at Tigger town.

I can only endorse Malcolm Speed as he was universally despised when he ran the ACB and in my opinion, helped bring Australian cricket from World Domination to humiliating defeat.

It was said about him by somebody, though I can't recall who that he was "Lawyerly in every aspect"

In other words ,a detestable [censored].

Bring it on.

What nonsense. I don't know a person alive who would walk away from that contract voluntarily. People on this forum forget that for the coaches and players this is a job, not just a game:

Not saying he should just walk, but he should be honest and admit that he is not taking the club in the right direction.. Coaches get contracts because they sell on their vision, Hardwick has over- sold and under- delivered.

All they need now is Toby Mitchell as vice president and Dustin Martin and Jake King will be right at home!

Forget Tassie, forget Ballarat, forget western Sydney ... Richmond are going for a new untapped market ... the crim market!

A rebranding ... the Richmond Coffin Cheaters ... big furry wharfie with bolt cutters as their game day mascot ... it's a sure fire recipe for success. Which players, which coach would dare not to win! (unless ordered to throw a game or two)

Biffen, it's hard to decide what I'd want more. Your description of Speed makes him a compelling choice. However, I would love to see Richmond fall into the hands of Melbourne's underworld. On a completely separate issue, Jake King could find a role at the club. Khoury could play a role in trade negotiations.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
