Yay! Let's destroy the culture of competition for spots by just playing kids who have talent again, it'll be like a flashback to before Roos spent 3 years fixing us! Weeeeeeeee!

I'm very confident Roos & co are all over this already.

Youngest team feilded each week.

Just to add... i think they've done very well managing the young kids this year as well.

I agree that we should look at getting games into younger guys coming through but I think we also need to make sure there is still a mix of young and experienced. We've made that mistake of throwing a young team together and expecting them to just work, it blew up in our faces.

Also identify games where we won't be throwing them to the wolves as much. Suns and Carlton are teams we can look at giving someone a go. I'd like to see Weiderman and Hulett a run at some stage through the year, and of course get some of the young guns for the future like Clarry and Gus in there at the same time.

Still got to keep a balance though.

I think the addition of Grimes would prove that we absolutely should NOT just blood the kids.  Listen to Bolton from Carlton - all he is talking about now is getting games into the kids.  They won't necessarily have earned those games, but they want to 'fast track' their development.  We all know the dangers of doing this.

We are now in a position where we don't need to do that.  Roos and the FD will make sure they pick the BEST side each week until the season is over.  Why change it now?  We are building a good culture and there is no need to start blooding kids for the sake of it.  They'll get their chance.  If, for example, Hulett gets a game at some stage then hopefully it's because he has earned that chance, not because we want to gift him a few to finish off the year.  We've done that numerous times before and look where it got us.

Plus we are still, although highly unlikely, a chance to play finals.  We are playing a good brand of footy and we need to stick to that.

So it's time to be bold and STICK to what we are doing.  No deviation for any reason.

No more cue in the rack.....as many wins as possible.

Btw, we absolutely shat all over Freo last night....make no mistake, that was a ripper win.

Win against the Saints and who knows?

If we beat the Saints, there is still a faint sniff of September.

I have had enough of development teams (2008-2014). Winning breeds the right culture. Set the standard... you get a game on performance NOT potential.

Remember we have traded out first round pick this year.  Every win we get and position we can move up the ladder makes that a better deal.

Nah.  Familiar with the term "sunk cost"?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
