North could go into freefall ... they have a tough run home without 1 guaranteed win ... they'll probably beat the Saints & Pies but Port,  the Hawks, Doggies, Sydney & the Giants are all tough games.

The trouble is that there isn't a team outside of the 8 who can realistically replace them ... unless the Demons can go on a run of '87 like proportions

They'll be 7-8, same as Port, us and Collingwood, and therefore equal 9th on points. Not sure what your point is...?

His point is that you can't be equal anything as percentage is always factored in. So saying you are equal ninth is a moot point.

And Dwayne Russell is a [censored] I think was another point.

Let the Fall continue.

Can't wait to see Scotts sookie blubbering face at the conference

God I'd love to front up against north again now.

That and the Essendon game has cost us dearly.

Yep we would be right there ready to pounce...

Still can be done but a huge outside chance

You're never equal any spot on the ladder, you're clearly 9th, 10th etc based on %. They are 20% points behind us.

And yes Dddeeerrrrwayne is a c.

Our game vs Essendon was bad, but the Saints are deplorable. At this stage of the season they have a tired depleted list full of top ups and anyone that doesnt smash them is kidding themselves.  Even Zharakis is out today.

How would you like to be the comedian at the Scott twins family reunion

After every punch line they'd throw their arms in their air then put both hands on their head and shout out "that's not how it goes! It was Reagan who said that to the pope!!!" Then mid week they'd call the booking agency and demand you be sacked.

I'd love essendon to beat the saints so they don't get the no.1 pick this year.

But I'm not sure I want to be paying the saints coming off a loss.

Thoughts?

They'd be just as fired up as we were after our Ess game. Which proved to be a hell of a firestarter for us.

But what the hey. Let's go for the triple whammy in one week. Etihad, Saints, and a team coming off a loss. Three hoodoos beaten in one.

We've actually done well in those match-ups this year.

Collingwood was coming off a bad loss (St Kilda first, Port second) both times we beat them. Richmond was coming off a big loss to West Coast. Fremantle was coming off a disaster. Brisbane and Gold Coast have largely been coming off losses all year.

Indeed, we haven't beaten anyone coming off a win this year (North, Dogs, Hawthorn, Adelaide).

The Media are talking up Melbourne and Collingwood as possibilities to make the Eight.

Channel 7 suggested Norfs run home might be too tough.

We are 3 games behind them.

I can't see it happening.

Hogan could break Fred Fannings record if Delaney stays in the team... He is an absolute potatoe.

Also good to see Membrey having his good week this week, surely he cant towel us up twice in a season

I can't either, but gee it's good to be part of the discussion at this point of the year.  It's a much better talking point than already fussing over what player we want to draft.

So conflicted about this match. Don't like either team, don't want to be the only team that loses to Essendon this year, but don't want to face St Kilda the week after they lose to Essendon.

Similarly, don't want St Kilda to win because they'll be a game clear of us if they win next week (and we all know our form after NT games, at Etihad and against St Kilda -- the triple threat).

Hope it is an energy sapping draw. Don't want either of these sides to win.

I'd rather not be the only losers to the drug cheats this year.

And if the Saints lose, they won't jump us on the ladder after their inevitable victory next week. Best of both worlds! ^_^

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
