CASEY SCORPIONS v COLLINGWOOD VFL

KC from Casey

Recommended Posts

We are ten rounds into the VFL season and the Casey Scorpions are on top of the ladder with only one loss for the year.

Surprisingly, that's how long it's taken Channel 7 to recognise the Scorpions and televise one of their games but please forgive my cynicism because the game they've picked to show off the boys from Casey involves Collingwood which always rates well and gets more than its share of coverage - Channel 7: Saturday & Sunday coverage

* 23rd player

The Development League team has a bye.

Meanwhile, 19 year old Tom Glen who participated as 23rd player in Casey's last two wins over Box Hill and Collingwood is set to line up with Frankston this week. Don't ask me how or why but apparently Tyler Roos did something similar last year.

Thanks KC, I love your work and I'm very happy with this , I get to see Casey 3 weeks in a row now. This week Vs Woods on 7, live vs B'rat Nth next week and Vs Richmond on 7 the following week. Go Scorps

Viney in the guts, Oliver in the back pocket and Kennedy on the extended interchange. I think not!

Weideman not playing v Collingwood!?

Not mentioned in injury report - seems a strange game to "rest" him from.

His output has dropped just slightly the last couple of weeks.

Likely just decided to rest him based on that. No need to over work him now. He's got 25 senior games to get through next year!

He was rested only a few weeks ago and in between that, there was a bye. If he's being rested, it's a strange move indeed.

It will be all done and dusted after training Saturday morning! Those that aren't there are playing for Casey that afternoon!

It'll be a bit of a mystery who plays because we won't have to finalise our 22 for Monday until after I think

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
