Rivals circling free agent Jetta

This post won't win me any love around here, and I hate to play devils advocate, but Nev has had concussion problems and is only a string of bad knocks away from walking away from the game.

One last big pay day from a rival club could set him up in case his career is cut short due to concussions.

He is in our top 10 and is irreplaceable. One of my favourites. 

Just don't underestimate the impact his injury history will have on his decision making. He has kids, and 50k extra pa over a few years will be important to him and his family.

I reckon he'd be Top 5 in the B&F, which rewards roles players play rather than whoever gets the most posessions or goals the media awards tend to focus on.

And yet, I dont think once this year he would've been named in the paper 'bests'.

His ability to read the play in the air against often taller opponents, and his ability to jink, twist and turn out of trouble to dish it off for someone to clear is second to none. 

We've definitely got the 'good' Jetta here!

Reasonable point; however I would see excellent career option for him if he maintains his ties to the MFC, where he's already been playing for 8 years.  Would definitely see him retained by the club when when he retires, hopefully 6 concussion-free years from now.

I remember back in 2012 when Lewis and Leroy Jetta were at their peak, and at the time I couldn't help but feel that we recruited 'the dud Jetta.' My goodness was I wrong! Not only has he proved to be the best Jetta, he's easily in our top 5 most important players and still improving. 

2014 and 2015 were terrific years for Jetta but he's taken his game to a whole new level this year. The fact he is able to play on key forwards 25+ centrimetres taller than him highlights how good a player he has become. His toughness, pace and ability to rebound are second to none at the moment. I can easily see why he's on the radar of opposition clubs. If he was playing in a Hawthorn or Geelong finals bound team, he would easily be talked up as a potential All-Australian.

He's without doubt now the most consistent Jetta. Not being blessed with the pace of his cousins has probably proven to be a blessing rather than the curse we thought it might be, as it has forced him to bust a gut developing the other areas of his game.

He's definitely the toughest Jetta, too.

Had a chat with his Aunty a few years ago 

Asked her about the Jetta boys playing AFL 

She  had an option of them all Nev was the lazy one she said Glad he proved her wrong

A couple of seasons ago, he looked too slow, too short, and lacked involvement in the game. Just shows that one has to be very careful about passing judgement. Never be to hasty in writing off players. Nevilles game on Sunday was simply superb. He reads the game perfectly, is quick to the contest, can take a strong overhead mark, can defend against taller opponents, and can accurately pick out a team mate with his disposal. A great success story. Great for Neville, the MFC, and the brotherhood.
