In: Vince, Garlett

Out: Stiff player 1, stiff player 2.

Yep, putting the big calls out there today.

Serious answer: early gut feel says rest Oliver, and send Hunt back to Casey.  It makes me squirm omitting Hunt off the back of a seriously solid debut, but I can't mount a case for anyone else.  All our other somewhat marginal players such as Bugg were excellent today.

Appreciated the laugh from the Lumumba droppers though.  I love what he's adding to the side at the moment.

Have to agree with you the Prince has been way better than I expected.

Contrary to some other opinions I think VDB will be coming back via Casey.

His form wasn't great before injury and with the display today from both the Casey players and the seniors he won't just automatically slot back in once he's fit.

Bernie will come back in and I reckon Oliver will be given a week off.

I know Roos doesn't like dropping a debutant after their first game but I think Hunt will be unlucky as Garlett should hopefully be back, but the again Garlett could be another 4 weeks away... who knows!

If it's not broken, don't fix it ... But I can't see Bernie, Jeff or vanders playing at Casey any time soon.

I can - Vanders in the two's , to run him into a bout of form...Bugg definately needs a run into the two's.

Id do the one change with Vince in and Oliver to have a rest.

I have serious man crush for Garlett but i think another week off will do him good. Especially with ankles as they can just stay and niggle with you for a while if you try and play on them. Bit like whats happened  to Vandenberg who has looked so rusty since his ankle injury during the nab cup.

I want Garlett 100% fit.

How are we going to fit Petracca,  AVB,  ANB, and eventually Weeds into this team.

This is  what success feels like. It's a strange feeling but I can get used to it!

Garlett (if fit) and Vince are certainties to return ....... but no idea who the outs might be!  Our Footy Dept got it spot-on this week, despite the widespread criticism / incredulity around this place.  Very happy to leave it to them again ....... they are far smarter than me!

And what magnificent position to be in

Who ever gets dropped will be unlucky. It is nice to have decent backup players for a change. Getting senior games into the young players is also a good move by the club, not so long ago people wanted Wagner and Frost to be dropped. Great win.

Great to finally have afl quality depth. I'd give tracca another week withe the idea of debut against the saints. This week, Vince in for Oliver . I wouldn't play him at Casey let him have a spell. Name him as first emg. From what I hear Garlett won't be ready. The only possible change could be ANB for hunt and Oscar Mac for Dunn as they will swap quite a bit this season in a handover situation.

I liken our situation with Petracca to kids being given a brand new game console for Christmas, them knowing it but only being able to play it on Christmas day. They all know what it is, they all know how good it is, and they know how much enjoyment it'll give the kids but they're still going to make them wait!

Eight tackles.

He's a beast - even if he's tired he still works so hard.

69% TOG too - only Kennedy played less.  Incidentally, Kennedy had it 22 times on 65% TOG.

I was in favour of giving Oliver a rest, but it would have to be with his feet up.  It would probably be inhumane (to the opposition) to play him in the VFL.

Don't think they should drop him but wish Frost would hang on to those regulation lead-up marks - drives me nuts.

That's all I got - cheers!

Tough selection this week. Vince and Garlett obvious ins. And who does ANB have to root to get a game.

Not to mention Petracca, who must be getting close.

Yeh would have to be Vince/Jeffy for Brayshaw/Matty i would think.

Ok ill have a shot

In -  Vince, Garlett

Out - Oliver, M Jones

I think this is the most realistic change too, although could be a wet moist night where clearances are key and would love Oliver smashing into the Tigers.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
