I was never sold on the idea but if we were to do it, then it was worth doing properly. Being rubbish is the first of many problems but it seems we are still doing some form of school visits and community camps in the region plus the VFL team are still there. I'm not all that impressed with the AFL dropping in 2 power house teams for a NAB challenge game in the region whilst none of our 3 games are in areas that benefit us at all. 

A dead heat tonight between the footy and Judge Judy but the good news is that we are less than 24 hours away from the first NAB Challenge blockbuster of 2016.

Thought I was listening to Eddy tonight except it was all about cats. Great to see them get rolled again.

While I agree with u willmoy it's only preseason!

Nobody seems to want to listen but the Cats problem is their ageing defence. 

Add to that a game plan based on attack & one way runners through the midfield and Scott will have some big scores kicked against him...

Going to be interesting to watch.

I really, really hope Geelong completely fall apart. It would bring me so much happiness to see Dangerfield and Clark stuck in a club incapable of matching the youthful lists of the Bulldogs, Port, Saints and us.

 

All jokes aside, it made excellent viewing but in reality the game was an anachronism - a retro view of what football was like 10 years ago and beyond but when points are at stake, that sort of thing will be rare as hen's teeth.

Both teams played without a defensive side to their games and when they had a run on, there was no response in terms of slowing down the tempo or changing tack. The Geelong side was top heavy and in a game where fitness and running were super important, it was inevitable they would slow down after half time and Collingwood's 11-goal third quarter was the result. 

A good game to watch for once (helped by the fact that it was played in front of a crowd and not a herd of farm animals in the background) but I wouldn't put to much store on its value as a counter for the season ahead.

Agreed that the Geelong team was top heavy, especially up forward. Question is what does that do for Mitch Clark and his chances of getting back into the side after last year's injuries and other dramas.

Hard to sell memberships when you play in Adelaide and Hobart not sure where the other game is but the AFL are a joke Hawks and tigers at Beaconsfield today 5,000 turn up they sell tickets we play in the city of churches and get a sore backside. 

The Hawks are in a rut. They were involved in an ugly effort against Carlton which resulted in a very modest (by their standards) 21 point win and they were smashed today by the Tigers.

They've slipped out of the eight before one of the sides has even played a game. Too soon to say the dynasty's over - I'll wait another week or two until their last NAB Challenge match before I sink in the slipper.

I started watching the game but decided I'd rather enjoy my Sunday afternoon.

Bloody embarrassing for Carlton.

1 carlton today at least are rubbish - cant believe we lost to them at the end of last year.

2. If we show up anything less than 100% serious when we play essendon we will get rolled. And i will lose my fragile little mind.
