Changes at SEN

Featured Replies

You think these breeders & trainers are sports people, I don't so lets leave it at that.

...back to SEN, I'm missing Rita

She's a pain in the backside but at least she brings a different point of view and a bit of colour.

Whistle. Free kick ...... incorrect disposal.

Andy Maher LOL

That's actually one thing I've never done listening to Andy Maher...

Tried listening to SEN the other morning and turned on whilst Gaze was speaking. Very hard to listen to. For a big bloke he has a horribly whiney voice.

And Harford and Allen as drive home fundamentally teams up two blokes lacking in charisma. I'd prefer Roy Slaven.

Love the station, makes a change to having to live in the west and put up with a little bit of Freo (which I can take) but Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russia have nothing on the Meth Coast propaganda we have to put up with on Perth radio, tv and in the papers.

The last time I listened to SEN, the Morning Glory team consisted of Billy Brownless, Gary Lyon and Tim Watson. That must be going on ten years ago now. Geez!

Bogan Radio.

Mark Allen and the Ox: they spend 3 hours talking about golf and how often they get drunk. Then they say ice is bad. They'll move onto some soft, vaguely pervy sexist crap and then back to golf and beers.

What Mark Allen knows, other than what he knows about himself, wouldn't fill a thimble.

What is this SEN you talk of ? Bolted on Triple J listener.

SEN are near bankrupt. Hutchy owns Crock media and will buy SEN for a pittance next year. They will broadcast nationally and lots will change.

Aside from the regular hosted weekday programs, a lot of their air time is filled with Croc Media productions, and quite often repeated. As part of the reshuffle, SEN will focus more on entertainment, and not solely sport.

Ray from Werribee is classic humour radio during the night.

Tragic Richmond supporter...

Yeah, you'll get balance there.

Much more likely there than 3AW...but I think you and I think of 'balance' very differently.

I heard they were owned by Dr Turf and his family. Anyone know who owns them.

Not surprised they're changing things up. On the drive home I've been turning off the Allen/Ox combination. It's a flaky program that needs substance. On last listenings they consistently prefer talking about their recent rounds of golf and how beautiful the courses are in the mornings....I mean WGAF.

I live in Sydney and it's my only way of getting an AFL fix on radio even if it is via the web.

I really used to enjoy listening to the Drive Home as I'd catch up on a lot of footy news and Ox had good contacts at MFC etc. That was a long time ago. Now it is as H_T says above. It's a waste of time which is disappointing for me. Always found Harf and Maher to be pretty light weight. They're going to struggle with this line up.

KB is just a shitz stirrer and just bangs on and on and on about it to the point where is bloody annoying and I turn off.

Prefer Gaze over Maher the nose snorting pain in the buttox

Im glad the Ox is still part of it.

I hate the left as much as they hate the right (more so).

So yeah, if you're left then you're right.  Or left.

But we can still agree on footy.  Or not.

Did you mean "Triple J not Tripe M"?

Ox and Leach - breakfast

KB - mornings (same)

Maher - afternoons

Harford and Allen - drive time

Fine - evenings (same)

Gaze demoted to "contributor".

Harford and Allen for Drive?

I dont mind Harford however Allen is a twit.

Needed someone else to co host with Harford.

It's still a total boys club with the odd token segment. Maybe they should bring in a female co host at least to help Maher out in the midday shift.

That would be good to hear. She could help out by introducing guests, interviewing guests, throwing to ad breaks, throwing to news breaks, taking calls, answering calls, running segments like "5 topics in a minute" or whatever it is .... and leave the rest to Andy "you know, you're absolutely right" Maher.

Hating the left is pointless. Look at how your life is better because of them :)

I don't hate the right - I just know that they hate me.

As for footy, I'm excited about CP but don't want to say anything because Jesus.

I think he hates me too.

I don't really hate you.

I quite like you,  Tim.

You're grouse.

  • GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

It's Game Day and the Demons are back on the road for their 3rd interstate game in 4 weeks as they face a fit and firing Crows at Adelaide Oval. With finals now out of our grasps what are you hoping from the Dees today?

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
