Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

but sadly he has played his last game at AFL level which is a shame.

Maybe next time you should highlight that.

He didn't look to have explosive acceleration and was burned off by a few players in the port game (I actually breathed a sigh of relief when he was swapped to the bench and Hunt came back on).

I would like to know what the footy department thought about what an additional preseason would offer him.  If they thought he could add some speed to his tank, then I say offer him another contract.

I think you will find out early next month that the coaching staff think his speed will never be found again. Simpy a massive liability in todays frantic defensive game.

Will be amazed if he is kept on. One of the great shames of our past decade, was Jacks injury.

It all comes to what role the club wants him to play and his personal view.  IN a well structured team a highly skilled, calm presence is more important that speed. I hope he gets another year in some form.  He is still young 25 and has a lot to offer.  unfortunately his two games seems to have mirrored Grimes, a good win and then a poor team game.  Hopefully that won't be held against him.  We'll know end of season.

Jacks a ripper bloke and i would.love him to be able to make it.  But with our abundance of inside miss and his lack of outside pace i cant see him cementing a spot permanently.

Wouldn't mind him.getting another yr but sadly like Grimes a ripper bloke but the games gone past him.

I was all for Jack getting a game in the ones when Bernie was suspended.

I thought he deserved a chance to show what he could do to make a case for 2018.

He got his chance. He wasn't up to it. Whether anyone likes it or not, his career at the MFC is over.

I think at this point we can close the book on this one. He gave it his best shot coming back from injury but he will never make up the yard of pace that he lost when he injured his lisfranc.

It is an interesting one.  We all would love to see the story develop and him find his place.  Perhaps he is the backline general aka Lewis - what would one more preseason do for development (since he has been stuffed for so long).  He didn't look to have explosive acceleration and was burned off by a few players in the port game (I actually breathed a sigh of relief when he was swapped to the bench and Hunt came back on).

However, he may have a future as the 'steady head' in the back half, that is the 100% reliable outlet passer.  He can take a tough grab, we know he can stick a tackle, he has footy smarts and is a good ball user.  If he was able to run both ways and hold the structure, as well as break for outlet passes, he could be a real beauty for us.

That is all a big 'if'.  I would like to know what the footy department thought about what an additional preseason would offer him.  If they thought he could add some speed to his tank, then I say offer him another contract.  Otherwise, like Lyndon Dunn, he doesn't really fit the game style that Goody is trying to build at the club.

He didn't lay 1 tackle against north. That essentially spells the end in a Goodwin side

He had the Navicular injury, Col.

It's all a bit sad, but that's footy.

He was serviceable in our win over Port, but was completely out of it against North.

He just doesn't have the tools anymore to make a decent go of it, with the manic way footy is played these days.

Maybe he could be an inside mid and move one of our Insiders out a bit . He has got a terrific footy brain.

Another player that could of really been something, but lady luck was never on his side.

Being burdened with Captaincy at such a ridiculous age certainly did his career no favours as well.

Cant see him pulling on the guernsey again. Certainly good enough for Casey, but for the seniors - its all past him now.

Like others I feel sorry for the guy and I suspect that those who are calling time on his career at senior level are correct. However, he has only played 2 games, one okay the other not. There are others who have been given more games than Jack.

All the same, despite being a massive JT fan, I feel his senior days are over.

Delisting him shouldn't be the end of his career as a Demon however and I would love to see him continue with the Casey Demons and be part of a succession of VFL Premierships. He is too much a part of our Club to not be around when we achieve success and albeit if he is not on our senior list, I am sure that the Club could find a role in our reserve list at Casey!

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
