Cryptic Message on MFC Social Media - New MFC Logo

Featured Replies

Beats the electric blue from the Barras coaching era.

It was "made for TV" unlike the footy we played .

That was nearly as bad as it got.

Very clever marketing. My immediate thought seeing to new logo was New York Yankees (or maybe I was just channeling our President!). Its simple, clean and by just using the word Melbourne, I think they are pitching towards a non-football crowd to buy Melbourne branded merchandise. I wouldn't be surprised to see tourists buying some of the new gear just because it says Melbourne but not in a cheesy way.

Lets hope they keep going with all this.

Seeds sewn.... have to keep the momentum

Don't like it because it must include '1858' - our history.

The "MFC" bit looks like a blatant clone of the Carlsum jumper's "CFC".

But hopefully, all this PR will get some of the luke warm Dee supporters off the bench and going to games and joining up. Of course we need to win games to keep those supporters on board. Are we great or what in the off-season these days?

Or any other team that ever used ...something-football-club !!

Hang on...how long has that mob....plays cricket in Batmania been going ?

I like the monicker. Simple...clean. easy to replicate. All the things a good logo is......oh yeah....and it's us !! :)

Let's hope that the new kit isn't spoiled by sponsor logos creeping over the monogram like this years guernseys.

Pretty sloppy effort.

Looks great on the Billboard in the CBD

Have wanted to see that for years

We represent Melbourne. Get in there...

where's the trident?

where's the demon?

where's 1858?

where the hell's schwabby?

Managed to untangle yourself dc?

apart from the minor relapse today, yep. i blame bill gates

where's the trident?

where's the demon?

where's 1858?

where the hell's schwabby?

where's the Hell ??

That deep dark blue nearly black) abyss. ...with red for the tortuous souls ( who follow us lol ) :)

Didn't mind the previous. ..dont mind the new.

Didn't like the trivial that gave birth the old but love the verve of trying to use the new as a connect to Melburnians !!

Go Dees

All the pieces are now in place for us to build a bandwagon when we start winning games of footy.

We look modern, groovy and ready to grow. Play and exciting brand of footy and I predict we will be shocked at our growth in three years time.

Nice job! :)

What's been seen can no longer be unseen.

I would drink my coffee out of that cup every single day.

Loved what Jones was wearing today, to promote new brand.

There is thought that too many other teams are producing dark blue / black gear now. Even sides like Adelaide ( God I hate them ) have produced some gear predominately dark blue.

Add in gear from Carlton, Bulldogs, Hawthorn ( believe it or not ) and the cats plus a lot of black and even Dark Purple from Fremantle.

So to be different the MFC are going mainly RED.

That is what was put to me when I asked the club this question.

Maybe there's a reason those clubs are all producing that merch? Sometimes it's not always best to be different for differents sake.

I don't mind the logo, but some slight reference to Demons possibly with little horns on the top or something would be better.

It probably looked better in my head, but you get the idea.

Strangely looks quite the bit more menacing... nice :)

[censored] i reckon

Be us ...lead...not be lead

Not overly fussed on the new logo TBH but I am impressed with the way it was launched.

Good to be finally starting to resemble a professional sporting body.

that picture needs the late '80's ch 7 Dancing Demon doing an "exit stage left" :)

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
