He needs to be careful as leaving the ground into an opponent can have repercussions but I have seen him execute this 3 or 4 times and each time he has done it to perfection.

I have not necessarily agreed with commentary that big  18 years old's have AFL ready bodies.  A large looking frame can mask the reality that they lack the toning and indeed strength of a more mature footballer (as Viney pointed out about Petracca) - apparently no one has told this to Oliver as he already has no issue using his body as a weapon.

I think he will be scarily strong with a couple of seasons and preseasons under his belt. 

If you leave the ground to bump you have problems with whatever results.

If you leave the ground when you have the ball its not his problem.

But you are right about he MRP WTF knows what they will do in any given case.

Haven't seen Petracca on the park yet, but this blokes the most exciting player I've seen pull on a Dees jumper since I first saw Hogan.

I have seen Petracca on the park at training and I doubt that you will be disappointed when he plays his first match.

And I was thinking that Jordie's kicking has improved

And I was thinking that Jordie has gained a fair few yards in pace

And I was thinking that Jordie has learned to extricate himself from tight contests brilliantly

And I was thinking that Jordie has learned how to take a great grab.

People who have been so impressed with Brayshaw and Oliver will be stoked when Petracca gets out there, imo he is the best of the three.

My Brother told me this afternoon that he'd pay to watch Petracca train (he was at Gosch's today) and that he's the most exciting talent he's seen come to Melbourne since Jakovich.

Best of all, they're all different and will complement each other.  Petracca, Oliver, Brayshaw and Viney will be as good as it gets in 4 years time.

Interesting comment Pro as some here have commented on his similar physique and explosive speed to Jacko. I think Jacko was only about 6'1 but I think he could still play FF these days. Wonder if the Trac has the same speed over 10 or 20m and that X factor ability (that you can't teach) to kick goals from anywhere.

Which is the player I have compared him to.... right down to the carefree attitude and pure arrogance of knowing how good they are.

Man if he plays like Jaka....  salivating at the prospect.

I'm not sure of Petracca's pace.  My Brother doesn't think it's explosive, but he's quick enough and just so powerful.  He's also an elite mark.

The comment was that despite his 186cm, he could play full forward and kick plenty of goals.

He also noted that he certainly isn't a lazy trainer.  He's fully switched on.

I haven't been fortunate enough to see Oliver or Trac live but if they are anything like Brayshaw in talent, power and application I will be salivating.

Ah. Jaka.  Such talent and excitement but Trac has already shown more determination in working hard to recover from injury than AJ did.

I agree. Pretty easy decision. Petracca, Brayshaw, Viney, Oliver and Salem, are as promising as any young midfield in the game.

That is a relentless, tough and classy midfield.

After this year, I expect Gawn will also be a top 3 ruckman in the league. Whereas Sandilands is on borrowed time.

There was also the broken back Sylvia copped after being tunneled by Butcher.  Again, no case to answer.

When he was being interviewed by Barry Hall on the weekend he looks almost as tall as him.

4 years time? Might be earlier than that.

Even though the physical and AFL experience development is still ahead of them (i.e. Viney excluded, they're still kids), I wouldn't be surprised to see all 4 of them in the team at some point this year. If so, that's surely going to accelerate things.

They'll all be regulars by round 3/4.  Their all best 22 now.

Their best footy will come after the age of 24.
