2015 Player Review - # 26 Christian Petracca

Featured Replies

WJ - a perfect incontrovertible summation.

I love reading his blogs about his rehab. Sounds like one mentally tough dude.

So looking forward to seeing him in 2016.

Fingers crossed

Seems to be doing everything right in his recovery. We might look back in a few years and think that the injury wasn't such a bad thing in the context of what is hopefully a long and brilliant career.

Most important thing on his road to recovery is to have minimal if any soft-tissue setbacks.

So far so good. Will be interesting to see what happens when he's competing in full intensity training over the summer.

Can't wait to see him play though.

The worst thing about his injury was that we have ll been forced to wait an extra year to use my patented 'Petraccattack' nickname.

Cannot wait to see this guy on the field next year. Seeing how much Brayshaw and Hogan and to a lesser extent ANB and Billy Stretch added to the team, I have high hopes for what Christian will bring.

Probably one of the worst nicknames i've seen, but good on you for continually putting it out there, kudos.

ACL injuries are relatively common nowdays and the rehab is usually pretty good, the thing im most excited about is that he is exactly the type of midfielder we are looking for in our team. That said he is still young and yet to play a game, but an explosive goal kicking midfielder is ideal for us. Hoping for at worst something similar to Jack Ziebell, in a sense that he can spend plenty of minutes up forward if necessary and find the goals.

We're doing so much for him with getting his rehab right, I don't think we could've handled it any better. Sounds like he's well liked around the club, would sensational to see him a Trenners doing well come round 1 next year. Reckon they've become really good mates.

We waited a year to see what Jesse was capable of, worked out pretty well. Can't wait to see Tracca out on the G!

I always imagine the guy that played George McFly whenever a 'HogansHero' post comes up. Thats who i picture sitting at a keyboard somewhere in a dark room

The highlight - his instagram.

which was ? Humour us old fartz

Having a year off through (a well-managed) injury didn't do Hogan any harm. Expect Petracca to make a similar debut and be the 2016 Rising Star!

... and in case anybody needs a reminder

Disposal looks good (elite)!

Revealed on Facebook today that Petracca will wear the #5 guernsey next year.

The other number brought him bad luck.

Love it!

Surprised that people still have such silly superstitions in the modern age.

Will he also stop eating and drinking whatever he had on the day he hurt himself, or was it maybe the car he drove to training in that caused the incident?

How does this sort of thing make it through a modern education system?

Was he even wearing his old number on his back when he did his knee? Any training watchers there to confirm?

They really had me fooled when I picked them with great confidence to beat the Bombers at Gather Round last week. I should have recognised that nothing is more quintessentially Melbourne than defeating the undefeated early premiership favourite one week and losing to a winless cellar dweller on its way to establishing a record losing streak the next.
