WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOMAS BUGG

Featured Replies

Really like the age bracket of the players we've recruited. All have had a taste and couple of pre seasons. Ready to go to that next level as a player.

All part of the 'master plan'. Right now I couldn't be happier with my footy club!

Not excited by this, however, he deserves his name correctly spelt in the thread title.

His name is Tomas.

TOuMpAS - misread it.

Loved this from the new Dee

Beat me to it! Absolutely cracked up reading that.

Sheesh cupla hard heads in Viney Salem Brayshaw Vandenberg... man the list goes on..

Well I think its a good get. He will slot into our midfield and just go in tough and hard. Its good to see players are excited. christian petracca@cpetracca7 3h

Great trade period for @melbournefc. Excited for 2016. A lot of hard work to prove a lot of people wrong and that doubt us. Let's do this. I think he is itching to get out there for us.

Anyway its good to see todd and co doing some hard work.

Dees cocked up with Toump - but 2012 is a horror draft for GWS.

- pick 1 Whitfield - looks good but no Wines, Macrae or Stringer.

- pick 2 O'Rourke - bust

- pick 3 Plowman - bust - now bundled up with 4 other (Summner former pick 10) to Blues for Pick in late 20's!

- pick 12 Jaksch - bust

And now SOS is trusted to rebuild Carlton's list!

Exactly, that is probably the worst first round drafting ever.

Can we please nickname him "Windshield"?

Or "Hidden Mike"

This is good to hear. I think the club should really bind the group with this "us vs the world" mentality, that everyone doubts the club (even some of our own supporters).

I hope i am not the only one who thinks this, but giving away that future 1st rounder will make it really hard to land Prestia next year..

Glad to pick him up. What a great day of trading from the club. Totally makes up for overpaying for Melksham!

Now that we have Bugg, I would not be surprised if we traded Grimes for a pack of chips.

A packet of chips, do we trade watts for a freddo frog then?

It does a little. But we can always use 2017's first rounder, or trade into the first round. I think the going rate for Prestia would be a 1st and a 2nd rounder, so it is still very doable. All of this hinges on him wanting to come to us of course. And if he did nominate us, both clubs will make it happen.

I guess "Syntax error" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue ...:blink:

Buggacattack.

Bugger ?

Rolls off the tongue too easily.

"Mozzie"? Those buggers don't roll off anything ...

Not obscure enough.

The aim with nicknames these days is to be as obscure and difficult to yell out as possible.

Chairman of the Board should be Bugg's nickname.

Bugg, Bugg Zapper, Zapper, Frank Zappa, Franky, Frank Sinatra... simples.

No, just spoke to Roosy, it's Buggsy.

Not obscure enough.

But who will be Bugg's bunny? :) Perhaps we should call him Elmer then ...

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
