I don't post much either: I find all the negativity a bit concerning. On Sunday night I was thinking of posting that the Grimes and Pederson injuries were obviously the fault of David Misson, as were all the other injuries according to some of the desperadoes who post their tears and fears here.

I spent Sunday afternoon and evening and most of the night in the emergency department of Box Hill Hospital with an ailment not many medicos seem to have a handle on. I was expecting the worst about my team - my team since 1958 when I was 8 - and when I dared to check the score on my iphone I nearly fell out of my seat. The guy next door had it on his ipad but it was delayed, Hawkins was lining up and missing a goal at that stage.

It felt good. Most of all I felt good for the players, those poor bastards who have done it so hard since the Daniher days. The next day I watched the replays which made my recovery extra sweet, especially when I recalled opening the bowling for Sunshine Cricket club in 1967 and being called for throwing at the same ground. I'd made 16 not out, driving sweetly through the covers, and I knew the ball I was called for was legit. I threw the next ball, the umpire let it go and I stood at the end of my run up and asked the square leg why he hadn't called that ball. That's the one I threw, I said, not the previous ball.

That's life, I guess.

So you're a cheat, a German and most likely a war criminal.

That's not very nice, Mr Biffen. I thought I'd made it clear that the square Leg umpire had no idea what he was about when I DID throw one and he let it go.

I might have fancied bowling to you, you know, I was quick. There are still men who reckon I was the fastest bowler they faced.

To the other two categories I plead guilty. German and proud of it. Born in 1950, therefore a posthumous war criminal.

Good for you dieter! Biffen can be a malicious and vindictive fellow. He certainly seems to have it in for you krauts. He claims a link to aristocracy you know and I suspect his vindictiveness goes back to some perceived Hapsburg sleight to his Bohemian forebears.

Apart from being the unfortunate witness to Peter Hudson kicking about 15 goals on Ray Biffen - thankfully Hudson fell across Barry Bourke's leg and had to be carted off on a stretcher, otherwise Fred Fanning's record was gone - I always rated Ray Biffen as a player, especially when he lined up at full forward: he probably reckoned he'd learned a thing or two when Peter Hudson slaughtered him.

Pity his namesake is such a beastly chap. ( If he is of Slavic descent - I have a bit myself, on my father's mother's side - he probably is descended from royalty. All Slavs were, you ask them they'll tell you.)

dieter my advice to you would be to get off this site while you still have your morality.

Look at at the [censored] wits who have engaged you in conversation.

Chook Fowler - known pervert

dc - known pervert and abuser of bluerinsers.

Utah - not certain but probably a pervert.

Biffen. Procurer of women and drug dealer - FMD.

Played at Th King myself and collected a few bags on my day in the 70s. Also watched my brother lose a GF by 4 runs when no. 10 bat was bowled in the last over of the match while he was up the other end. Between that following the Dees he has been scarred for life.

You are in select company on here Dieter.

Most of the baby boomers here focus on tax dodging, restricting the housing market for the rest of us and comfortable bowel movements.

Issues such as morality are considered merely as a punch line.

As you are both a fast bowler and a war criminal after the fact, you have no need for it here.

Unfortunately i I don't think It is. Although arguably much better now. It is still in the same parkland precinct but it was all relocated and overhauled during the Monash / Sth East freeway construction. In fact the ground where I got my first hat trick just up the road was obliterated by the same freeway.

TH King is now home ground for St Kevins I understand. Ride past it on the bike path and it looks magnificent.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
