Heh, you always know Dean Ku..err Kent won't be far away when there's a blue on either.

I still laugh about last year against Adelaide when he completely ragdoll a crow player and just literally grabbed and threw him out of the pack with such ease.

He is living up to his name.

Fell just short of qualifying for Rio in the hammer throw.

Actually hate rance now

Is that the same Rance that Dear Bruce was orgasmic over last year despite the fact that Hogan in one of his first games took him apart?

Hittite someone in the back of the head is extreme dangerous. It is the true definition of a cowards punch,  deserved to be flattened by Viney- he should get an award!

That is exactly what is all too regularly killing (and maiming) our youth.  Needs to be very solidly hit on the head (pun intended) by those in charge.

Hahaha thanks for reminding me of that! hilarious!

Very symbolic of the way we have been treated in the past, by media and opposition alike, and very symbolic of the way we are and will be from now on.

Lol. Jack's too focused for that. The few times I have seen him in person, he just seems to be a total professional and I imagine him living and breathing football 24/7.

Jack is currently winning the herald sun player of the year.

and my respect for him has gone to a whole new level, threw an All Australian defender to the ground like a sack of [censored] to show him what a little [censored] he is.

I am disgusted by the Sympathy Rance is getting, it was a dog act, needs to be totally gone from the game.

I thought the commentary watching the replay was pathetic on this. They said something like they feel sorry for Rance for being bombarded for so many years. [censored] off. That shouldn't condone his cowardly act.

Brad Ebert should get weeks for that.

He should have known that an elbow in the kidney from behind would cause this re-action.

Reckless

High impact

To the knuckle

Honestly... He even took his mouth guard out to inflict further damage! Gutless.

Jack was being beaten...Jack was the one crying on the weekend. They sucked him in...still a lot to learn before he becomes a true leader. What Jack did was a sign of what the team did all day.

At least he came back later in the game and did what he should have done in the first place...

Watch Lewis anf the Hawks get into him if he somehow manages to not get rubbed out.

Lewis may not play either after a head butt.

Didn't see that. Interesting.

And he's been banned for two weeks before for headbutting (2011)

does anyone think Viney will get off?

the first two punches I reckon were insifficient force for a suspension but the third is low impact id think.   hard to see him avoid a week.

Thought Viney was off early on when he was going head to head for a ball with Robbie Gray, JV shirked and RG ran away with it, most confusing, set the tone for the day.

I can't see how he escapes without a week. If it were just 1 smack then he'd just get a fine because Ebert wasn't hurt. But to do it 3 times wasn't a good look.

Hoping he just gets the one week. The rest might do him the world of good and let's face it we won't beat Hawthorn this week.

Have him fresh for Queens birthday V's Collingwood, which is a game in our weight division.

Hopefully he only gets a week, but the fact here were 3 punches doesn't make it look good. He might get 2-3 weeks if we're unlucky.

We're no hope against the Hawks, especially without him there and firing. Hopefully he is back for the the game vs the Pies.

They were slaps with the exception of the last one which is inconclusive. Ebert will do the right thing and say it was a slap. $1500 fine, move on. :)

Gone.  He'll be sent straight to the tribunal, three weeks down to two with an early plea, and Roos will send him to the naughty corner.

Other teams will look to provoke him until he proves he can control his temper.

Can accept a week.

Actually not a disastrous result IMO. We won't win on Saturday regardless, and he can rest up for the winnable Pies game. Hopefully he has a big game as he owes the side one.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
