The Toump! 1 goal game!

Toumpas gets a goal from a stoppage and its a 1 goal game. Nice work Jimmy

good ruckwork from Gawn....

Best two games in a row for Watts,, finally getting some contested posetion. Maybe a few others could ask to play with Casey to gain some confidence!

Jones forever the mindless bomb into the forward line.

Melbourne better at the set play stoppages.... clean up the idiotic stuff / turnovers in general play and we win AND win well!!!

Don't believe we are only 6pts down....

Disgraceful first half. We've had intensity for about 10 mins.

Well done Toumpas. Stick it up some of the so called 'supporters' on this forum

Max Gawn 64 supercoach points.

Leave him in for the rest of the year as our number 1 ruckman.

Jack Watts BOG by a country mile.

Followed by Jesse Jesus Hogan.

Disgraceful first half. We've had intensity for about 10 mins.

Yet only one goal in it. Saints have run out of petrol.

Must win this game

Jesse Hogan is a god... wow

Jimmy Toumpas is leading our tackles with 4.

Jones forever the mindless bomb into the forward line.

Don't blame him when Hogan is down there. I literally expect him to mark it every time it's sent in.

Toumpas won me over with a passage of play halfway through the quarter. Attacked the contest, neutralised it, recovered, stepped around an opponent, handballed it to Gawn who sent it to Viney who sent it through. Good signs from Jimmy. Definitely loves the hospital handpass though, gotta get rid of that.

Yet only one goal in it. Saints have run out of petrol.

Bit early to make that call, but i have rarely wanted someone else to be correct SOOOO badly.

Hogan should kick a bag of 6-7 here

That last goal and come back should give us confidence for the remainder. What price confidence. Different team will come out this 2nd half. Watch out Saints! !

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
