That's my guess too.

I have a bad feeling it will be not guilty but my guess is guilty and banned for 12 months minus time served, so 8 months or so. I say 12 months due to discounting from 2 years for the delays not directly attributable to the players, I don't think they will get the no significant fault discount. 

That means mid August return so all but a season on the sidelines and start fresh in the preseason next year. I wouldn't be unhappy with that. 

My gut says not guilty too

Thus opening the way for everyone to take whatever they want and keep no records

Except that this is CAS, not the AFL/WADA...although whether that makes it any more or less sensible I have no idea.

I'm sure CAS is well aware of the world-wide implications of letting a club get away with systematic doping.  From that perspective, the careers of individual players won't count for much.

So after 4 years of listening to "Nows not the time to talk about outcomes" and "EFC havent been found guilty" we can actually point and jeer.

I personally hate the "Nows not the time to discuss" for whatever apologists come up with in any field.

I hope punishment is solid and I hope the Brownlow is ordered returned. I hope Robinson, Tim Watson and Connolly are brought to account for their barracking and unbalanced journalism.

Just tried to have a look at Bomberblitz to see what sort of delusion was going on over there, it appears the site has crashed, not surprising really, hopefully we are no where near the same provider because they are likely to explode when the findings are given no matter which way they go.

Depends what you think the integrity unit do, I always thought they were there to weed out people of integrity and remove them, that is the only logical role they play given the actions of the AFL.

I disagree LH that was the police investigation. the AFL and Richmond were still considering what they should do.

i have been watching and to my knowledge they have said nothing since.

The AFL Integrity Unit comply with th other definition of "integrity"

"the state of being whole and undivided."

 

If attacked by outside entities or parties they maintain the integrity of  competition by plastering or white washing over any threats or issues that make the AFL look bad.

It reads as if the civil action will be taken regardless of the CAS outcome - no surprise.  Civil action has been obvious since Ziggy put out his 'pharmacological experiment' report in mid 2013.

Guilty. 12 month suspension from now for all relevant players. Life ban for Mr Hird and some penalty for our coach-in-waiting. Then we await an AFL verdict on the Watson Brownlow.

You seem to be softening your predictions.

To avoid post announcement spin perhaps you can provide succinct answers to the following questions , based of course on your intel from sources. Note that i am assuming they will be found guilty.

1. How long will the penalties be for the players?
2. How many games will the players actually miss after backdating and other considerations are taken into account?
3. Will WADA go after Hird, the board etc as you have previously forecast?
4. If your answer is to number 3 yes (and i'd be surprised if it wasn't) will they announce their intention to do so when handing down the findings on players (which would seem the logical time)?

For balance my answers to these questions are as follows:

4. Thye will be asked their intentions, suggest they will look into it and drop it thereafter

 

My predictions

Little has done a great job at hosing this down, by delaying he has been able to swap out some of the players to reduce the final impact that any penalty will have on the club. They have effectively diminished the punishment significantly.  Now if they get banned for 6-12 months there is a good chance they will finish down low or possibly even bottom of the ladder giving them valuable draft picks in this years draft. So next year with new draftees and new picks and their full list returned they should be in a very good position for next year. All in all I think a lot of essendon supports will be happy with that outcome considering how bad it could have been.
