The Malthouse chosen game a is boring life's affair. The Blues are a steaming, stinky rubbish tip on fire. Well done Mick.

Bring the Dees back to Friday nights!!!

Cameron Ling doesn't know the rules of the game either, you are not allowed to be bumped of the ball is not within 5m Cam.

Could be a Visy Thrashing coming up

Jeff Garlett was the bargain of the year.

Sure he has hit the post a few times BUT he will kick 6 for us soon

Thanks Carltank i am happy! :)

Loving Cripps. Seems to be in everything.

so far, crap vs crap

Yep, we should beat both this year. Gibbs and Murphy, more worried about their hair, two wasted picks, no leadership.

Long road for Carlton, if they were to grow some and put a Gibbs/Murphy on the trade table who would be interested? They're not worth a first rounder. I think teams would rather back themselves in the draft.

I reckon Gibbs is worth a first round pick to a good side, but the blues need to be aggressive at the trade table and get some decent young talent in

A song for Mick on his great occassion...

It's a bit like the war between Iran and Irak in the 80s. Nobody cares much who wins.

What a weird reference.

A very boring match.

The Saddam Malthouse Vs Ayatollah Buckley death match.

Bell's okay, but the list is rubbish.

Liam Jones? Who the [censored] drafted him?

Last year they traded pick 7 for Wiley, Jacksch and pick 19 (Boekhurst).

From what I've seen tonight, Wiley and Jacksch are spuds. Boekhurst as a mature-aged recruit has his detractors too.

Yawwnnn!!!

I do. I've got money on the filth winning by 40+

It's looking pretty good right now.

The Saddam Malthouse Vs Ayatollah Buckley death match.

The most exciting part of the night's been the half time interview on SEN with Dermie fawning over his guests Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Hart. Hulk's a real man of peace and proved it when he called the Iron Sheik (who was the Shah's bodyguard) a nice guy.

Frost looks good and maybe a preview of things to come for us.

I think the Pies have a good young list and Buckley is coaching them nicely.

Would love to have Grundy, Elliot and Seedsman among others

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
