Credit to Mark Neeld for securing this kid.

Love him love him love him. When the rain came he was just marking stuff and that goal he kicked was beautiful. We can never never let this player go.

Looks like he got some good distance on that kick after the half time siren and struck it well, nice ball drop. Was unlucky to hit the post.

I dont think there's any reason to worry about his kicking.

WA footy commentators are dead-set-wet over Hogan.

We will be paying Jesse $1M a season at least for his next contract.

start passing the hat !

Looking like he'll kick 40+ goals in his first season. Missing 2014 may've been a blessing in disguise. He's monstering the best key backs in the AFL at the moment.

The way he shoved Rance out of the way which resulted in our first goal was brilliant.

He smiled in his post match interview. Was loving the crowd

Then he had another chance later in the game from almost the exact same spot and slotted it.

We have the best bookends in the game right now

Nope - that last one from the boundary line in the wet was a stunner.

Love the crowd's anticipation whenever the ball goes near Hogan, makes for an electric atmosphere that has been missing for a long time at Melbourne.

I thought he was going to get a repetitive strain injury with all of the hand action he had going in that interview.

Put 50 on the dees at 4$ hulk hogan is a gun and will be for a long time, he has some special traits to him, I put Brayshaw in the same bracket as him.

Hogan & Brayshaw our future

I love the way he comes from miles back and hits a marking contest.

We've really missed having that kind of forward for a long time.

Makes Jeff Garlett much better too. Jeff really knows where to position himself around a big key forward. Did he ever play with Fev? Because I feel like you'd get some great practice as a small forward by playing around a big man like that.

He played around plenty of NQR talls at Carlton according to my Carlton supporting friends.

They are livid that they threw him away for nothing. Makes it just that much sweeter.

Look forward to seeing him again in age of Ultron.

Rising star nomination chance maybe? Nah probably go to a young mid who piles up 20 odd possessions in a big win.

VandenBerg is too old, isn't he?

He does all the right things and hasn't kicked a bag.... oh boy o boy woooowwweeeee!! So much upside.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
