Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

If he is out there then he and the doctors have ruled him fit

If you're playing you're accountable, especially when you're the captain.

And this is coming from his biggest fan. He was shizen!

How often have we said that? Give him a break. He's been great week in for 3 years now. Everyone has an off day. I wish people would realise today was just gws being far too good. The momentum turned and all of the sudden the ball bounced there way, ricochets went there way. I mean smith, Cameron and shiel all kicked goals out of their Azzes. Before we slam this group let's see if they bounce back next week.

Looking forward to the garbage coming our way in the press conference

Same old same old I bet.

Roos must be counting down the days until he can hand over this pack of headcases.

Roos should not turn up and cop the fine as penance. Edited by america de cali

That's an excuse, we were just beaten by a much more talented side, which are starting to get their act together. The lower clubs can never be expected to compete with a club that has been given so many concessions, AFL know that it HAS to work in Western Sydney if they are to save face, They have invested a lot of money to ensure it works. We cannot begin to compete with those odds.FACT!!!!

how do people make excuses 7 days before an event? it was spoken of straight after last weeks game, by Non melbourne footy people.

I was wondering about it all week, but still thought we'd win.. we started off as I'd hoped for, with real enthusiasm & desire, but slowly during the 2nd Qtr we stated to ease off the pressure, as we maybe over attacked with the enthusiasm?

we took the foot off their necks in the 2nd, and slowly they built up speed.... second half, they just took off.

I will say this -

I refuse to let this footy club continually pizz me off on the weekend. You work hard during the week and look forward to relaxing and watching the footy and then they dish up these type of performances time and time again.

5 min into the last qtr for the first time I had enough and took my boys to the park instead of watching another pathetic effort.

The park was great much more fun than the alternative.

I have had enough of wasting my time when they turn on performances like today (and the last 8 yrs).

It's really disappointing that we continually dish this up.

There has to be a point when it has to stop but unfortunately it seems along way off still.

the modern game is a killer for any side that is a bit physiclly off or a bit inexperienced with so many strategies. too many sides get slaughtered because of the modern games congestion.

the old game was more forgiving with sides more able to put the shutters up & stop rampaging sides.

too many disappointed people going to games these days & leaving really disenchanted. not good for footy.

What the hell was the point of spending all last year on defence if we can still get blown open by the Giants like that? Roos should've flooded their forward line to stem the flow after their 4 consecutive goals.

That nothing was done after they kicked 10 in a row... you have to wonder.

Ive decided to look at this with a different perspective.

In light of a previous question this year as to whether we're an improved outfit and how we could tell .

Many previous years our season died half way through round 1.

This season it was half way through round 2.

Vast improvement. Onward and upward you good Dees !!

Any supporters going to Adelaide next week has a better chance of ending up as road kill than us winning.

Last year was a surprise win against them but don't see a hope in hell of that happening this year. They look top 4 material under Walsh.

I am ANGRY not sad or moping

ANGRY...that is what we must be

13 goals to 1 in the second half

ANGRY....Don't let the players off..

THIS IS EXACTLY WHY N. JONES IS NOT AN A GRADE CHAMPION

He Goes Missing when he must LEAD

I disagree with your comments on Jones, he had one bad game in what, 5 years? Where was his support.

I agree with your other sentiments though I'm extremely angry at this performance. The game was there to be won, we were dominating them.early - and we just went to water and STOPPED RUNNING. That's the only reason we let them over run us, we were always second to the ball, didn't run in numbers and didn't get the pressure on them. When Shiel kicked one of his goals from 50, he waltzed past THREE Melbourne players who didn't tackle, block, shepherd or chase. Absolutely disgraceful and that was just one incident. Howe was pathetic today, Watts was seen loping around with joy intensity far too often again. Just all round pathetic.

Salem, Viney, McDonald, Jetta and Hogan can probably hold their heads high, Newton did ok til he got knocked out too and Jamar did well early but couldn't stay with Mumford as the game went on. The rest should prepare to be shamed at Mondays film review session.

Was at the game having made the trip from beechworth. Should have stayed home they won.

Pre match talk was upbeat from the coaches robot presented. Spirit was good in the stands.

Two quarters of fumbling footy, dropped marks but we were ahead. Sure didn't make use of our opportunitys and sure the umpiring and standard of play was pathetic but we were in front.

The teammate least had a bit of spread and supported each other although there were too many occasions when we were competing with each other.

ThenGWS stayed out of those contests and ran across and around each other while we took each other out of the contest or delivered to 2 or 3 on1 contests or ran into them from the contest. Sure the umpiring was still pathetic but GWS just grew in confidence while we became more and more frustrated.

Our fumbling was increased out of the frustration while GWS became more confident.

Dawes and Howe dropped everything and Dawes was still double teamed. Jesse was playing his heart out. Watts was out of the contests and GWS just kept it away from him.

Our forwards were too far up the ground and so many times there was no one to kick too GWS had numbers deep in defence and slowly our pressing was overwhelmed as they kicked over or around or few tries.

I despair. I even yelled out the window IM NOT HAPPY,! but still just feel so so deflated.

This was rubbish.

PJ at the lunch said it was about respect and everyone doing their part.

It certainly didn't look like that out their today.

I hope the players have a good hard look at themselves and see the difference in their performance from week to week and quarter to quarter.

In the infamous '186' the second half margin was also 12 goals, arguably the 6.1 effort on that darkest of days against 17.7 was superior.

Today we weren't playing the ultimate Premier you could be forgiven for thinking.

So glad we put in all that hard work last year with Roosey building the defensive side of our game, our boys learning to run both ways so we wouldn't get cut to pieces like in the old Bailey days. this season we are ready to add the offensive icing on the cake and we are the fittest we have been for years. OK can someone explain today?

This season I was not expecting a lot of wins but we all hoped for 100% effort, games to fought out, leadership that kept us competitive for longer. Hmmm why is this too much to ask? We have one of the AFL's best coaches, elite facilities, we have turned the list over, brought in experience and some good young talent but we are still capable of turning into a rabble at any given moment when some pressure is applied. It is like their is some malevolent force down their that sucks the energy and talent out players who often played good football elsewhere before they walked through the club doors.

Thanks dl, but I've already rebuilt my 202 :)

Is this yours? Nice ride...mine's windowed.

no mine has been keyed, scratched, knocked about VX wagon that hammers when the revs are up for a little V6. bought as traded, because I needed a car quick, the old ford shyte itself. crappy fords...

love the old VX, so decided to do the suspension, & a few little tricks like otr CAI, hi flow filter, extractors, thru hi flow cats, with twin HSV stainless exhaust. yet to change mufflers to straight thru's, & the rear muffler may change as well, if I can keep it quiet enough?

Mace 1" Inlet Manifold insulator yet to go on, & also plenum spacer, billeted throttle body to be put on will help with grunt, & want some 1.95 roller rockers to go in it. all N/A, on LPG.

BCR Coilovers up front with - http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/chassis-suspension/hppp-1002-hotchkis-sway-bars/

camaro firebird twintube KYB AGX's rear, with commodore fe-2 rally springs. too soft with weight in back, nice unloaded; but needs some firming up, as I throw it around a bit. goes OK.

more work to do as I go outside the norm, for bits & pieces. looking at other vehicles rear swaybars for a suitable heavier rear sway bar. I don't want to harden up the ride with tough rear springs, but will go some Pedders I have, to try in it.

standard 4 wheel disc brakes with ABS & Traction control. police spec brake pads. Conti' Sport Contact 2's front, with Michelin Pilot Sport's rear... great tyre balance with the pilots on the back, for real grip. won't let go in the wet. very forgiving.......

.... bringing in some old Koni's from the states, to try out in the back, & some more Koni Sports from different makes.

looking at some of Addco's sway bars, for the back.

.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
