  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Devastated that TDI wasn't able to get the scoop via Twitter and it was Dave Misson that broke the news.

I guess there's always tomorrow.

TDI, can you ask Jack if Dave Misson is in fact correct?

Cup half empty is we never see what could of been as his foot will never heal.

Cup half full is that two former number 2 draft picks explode out of the blocks next year showing everyone why the were rated so highly.

Look, I'm sympathetic with the recent frustration at TDI's antics, but you are kind of inviting it with posts like this.

Perhaps he and club thought a fresh start at another club was the best thing for him, he went for the medical, so he must have been willing to go, rather than being offloaded as you say, I have spoken to him previously about his, and is quite comfortable with the whole scenario. Main thing now is to get fit and see what happens, will try and speak to him tomorrow if he appears in the fresh air, hasn't tweeted, could have been advised not to and let Misson in his injury report update officially

C'mon mate don't act surprise that he hasn't tweeted you back..

Did I miss a TDI meltdown? Someone link it please

No didn't meltdown old chap, just McQueen with his usual standard of input to a topic

Didn't think Jack would reply but worth a try, good to see it in the injury report, hopefully he can now look forward

Antics, Nash I am shocked, I take every poster seriously on here.....believe me........

Contrary to popular belief, some have replied, but they send me direct messages

I have also posted replies from Burgo and a couple of other admin staff

Stopped reading your posts but thought I would answer this one

I think Trengove is "Cactus" I reckon the club knew it and therefore a trade with Richmond was always going to be a win for us!

Unless a miracle occurs I cannot see him at the club next year!

I would be aghast if he was offered a new contract on the basis that he may come back.

I reckon his dwindling pace will be further compromised and in view of where we are at I don't believe we should be looking at him sticking around next year.

Time to pass! and move on!

Sounds like a good idea. And at this time, late March, how should we do that? (Rhetorical question - of course I expect you to have NFI.)

Obviously you don't do it now! I refer to the end of this year! Surely that is OBVIOUS!

Jack's foot is tracking well according to Misson's injury report on the MFC site

That's football speak for "We have NFI when he'll play again".

If Trengove does come back, he'll have to reinvent his game. Can't see him being an explosive mid or a half forward. If he can get his kicking ability back, would't mind seeing him play as a half back. He reads the play well and has clean hands.

If he can't get his kicking or any explosiveness back than he won't get a look in let alone try and reinvent himself.

I love Trenners as a player and have complete faith he will get back and become a best 22 player next year. Others before him have gotten through this and with the kid as professional as he is and diligent with his recovery I am sure he will get through fine.

Note - I don't know Jack personally, I am simply assuming he is the professional and diligent type.

How do we know he can play? Can you refresh my memory.

Maybe you're memory is failing but as a 19-20 year old he played good football. Not just "promising young potential" stuff, he was contributing, averaging 20+ disposals showing strong overhead capabilities for a mid, strong tackling and a good kick. He also had good pace over 5 meters.

He had played 80 games and while he struggled in his last season due to injury he was still not our worst.

We've seen he can play. If he regains those physical attributes he will be a player. The question is can he get fit, not can he play.

Ok, I am calling this one now. Jack will be back with Casey in July and in the senior team in August. Call me an idiot now if you like, and revisit this in September to confirm or deny. But the dreamer in me has won out.

I think if Trenners can get two games in with casey at the end of the year if would be a great achievement.

Even better if they are two BOGs!

His future will depend on how his body responds to a fuller training schedule once cleared. He can't afford another set back if he plans to play again.

I think trenners is an incredibly hard worker and will find a way back to senior footy. I think expectations should be in check, as he can't be the player he once was and we still don't know what that looks like yet.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
