Gunna be a long long year.

Bowls sounds attractive.

"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings."

I'm done with Melbourne.

Yeah you the man huh ?

Now we have to see that cheating [censored] James Hird celebrating... disgusting.

That'll help the 35k target... I expect us to drop to 25k by next week after that [censored]

That's a lesson in how to lose a game of footy......some pathetic mistakes tonight, by a team that thinks it's better than it really is.....

Thank god i dont have the money at present for a membership. Might save myself a poor investment.

We are toast without Lumumba Garlett Frost and Van den Berg what does that tell you? The team has learned nothing!

Saints and GWS knocked off these losers by 50 points.

Wow. 35,000 members after what we've dished up the last 6 quarters? Dreaming.

I'm done with Melbourne.

You useless bunch of [censored]! I hope this hurt a lot MFC! If you think this hurts wait till the Suns torch you in round 1. Use this as motivation!. Roosey suit these muppets out now! Not good enough MFC! Far from it! Worst game I have seen Tyson play, Viney atrocious!

Sad to say, if we're being logical about ability and form, Jesse Hogan just can't be picked for round 1. His marking and handling are not AFL standard. Nor Jack Viney. Sadder even to say, is I can't any progress for us beyond last year. HL, Garlett and Vandenberg are the only progress on standards. Round 1 is going to be nothing more than damage control.

Seriously not going to bother anymore.

Complete waste of time and effort supporting this club.

You owe me an apology.

That viney kick summed it all up im not even going to try defend us with the pre season defence

well where to now melbourne?

Perfect thing for us. A huge wake up call before the season has begun. Roos will go bananas and it will give the team a huge reality check.

Beaten by a team of hasbeens that aren't even told what their gameplan is.

Of ALL the teams to lose to, this was the one you DON'T [censored] UP!

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
