FAREWELL JEREMY HOWE

It's also surprising that so many in the media and beyond have failed to notice how ordinary he is.

The way Howe's playing at the moment I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes the first ever player to announce a change of clubs mid season. Does not give a snot about the MFC at the moment.

Farr out Adam, keep your trap shut. You never know who may be trolling on these boards. We should be pumping his tyres up to maximise his value!!!

I thought last week may have been a change of mindset for Howe. It might not have been the best 0-disposal half, but his workrate off the ball was where it needed to be.

Of course, I was wrong, and that was not the standard Howe wants to set himself.

His apathy and unwillingness to put in the required effort embarrasses me.

OX gave him a mighty serve at half time and I loved it.

Reakon Howes a gun that drags people through the turnstyles and don't think we should accept anything less than Treloar and GWS first pick.

That's the stuff Fork'em!!!

What a shame our last match didn't prove to be the "new dawn" of the club we all ignorantly hoped.

Howe is nothing more than a passenger. One good game every five is hardly worth carrying. If we got a pick in the top 10 for him we'd be getting away with murder. If his manager is actually chasing $700k then he is literally on another planet. Howe isn't worth half that.

Trade him off to the highest bidder. Hes a liability, but someone will pay overs for his screamers.

I hope the club is selling his worth like a good used car salesman would.

In the second quarter the ball came in to him at our 50 - he dropped the mark, went to ground and then his opponent waltzed off with the ball under no pressure.

He is [censored] useless, don't think we'll get another deal as good as last year's offer from GWS.

Sounds like Russell Robertson mark ii but not as good.

Howe turned a corner in the Geelong game...Roos said it was his best game since he joined.

What he left unsaid it was Howe's most unselfish, team oriented game ever!

Hence the high praise in is press conf for Howe's no touches in the first half.

Seems like Howe was told: don't even try to mark, let alone take a speccie!

Howe (finally) listened, sacrificed 'his own game' and brought the ball to ground!

Howe may look lazy but it may well be he plays to have fun doing his own thing. ie rather selfish

If he and the rest of the team play unselfish football and we win a few more Howe might want to stay.

Altho if Sir Paul Roos is right the orange people to our north may get to finals faster than us and he may go.

Either way, if Howe continues to help us win games rather than play his own game, I will wish him well.

I was wrong...

...Howe didn't turn a corner...he kept going straight ahead...straight ahead to a new team

He went back to selfish, lazy play last night.

He wasn't alone, I know.

But, ship him out! Don't care if he goes.

He should go to GWS where they will tell him to put on a show for they're supporter

We want him to play a role which he can't do because his a one trick pony.

Howe is an offensive forward and Will never be anything else.

Can only be played at half forward or forward pocket.

Doesn't chase or run enough to be a defensive forward or to play in defence.

We've seen some players play out years and go through the motions the last 3-4 years such as sylvia, moloney, frawley, scully.. You could tell they were leaving. Howe's insipid efforts are a new level, if only we snapped up GWS' pick 7 last trade period.. Drop him and don't bring him back, his a disgrace to the jumper. Bring in Harmes and give a kid who'll have a fair dinkum crack and prove himself to be worthy of a spot on the senior list that Jeremy Howe is taking for granted right now

Yes the difference between Howe and Neal-Bullen was striking yesterday, in all departments and if I was a senior player I would have been quite

embarrassed especially toward the end of the game.

Howe's game yesterday seemed to be in the pursuit of non injury.

So sad to never see the shepherd any more.

Have to say that you may be right JV7. He's making Watts look overly intense at the minute.

This guy is Sylvia mark II, but without Sylvia's runs on the board. I seriously don't think any club will take him, why would you. A flanker that would probably only be starting 22 at one club (us). If he does get a trade, it'll go exactly like Sylvia.

The worst part is we have to keep playing him in the firsts. If he's played where he deserves to play, we wouldn't get a third round for him.

The scenario that he has been taken already is on many peoples minds.

Have been a Howe supporter for potential he had and for comparison with Lynch.

BUT

Still needs to produce for us or delist him

I dont think we should play him in the senior side if he is not producing and I would play him forward and make him produce his best for us and/or a future salary. If he aint up to it he aint up to it

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
