THE ESSENDON 34: ON TRIAL

Right, good, work with it! THAT day was it hot? what could you smell, hear? Reconnect with THAT day . . relive the incidents, a head high charge, a cowardly punch, that feeling of revultion, the horror, the horror it's still lives inside of you . . reconnect with your inner hater. You'll be fine!

All that after not sleeping all night, waiting in the MCC cue in the drizzle and rain from midnight. The tactics used against the wiz. I still have nightmares.

I like the silence from the AFL.

Imagine what Essundone supporters are going through. The angst, I love it. Finally its is dawning on them that this is real and it is happening. And it is happening now.

ASADA and the AFL must be sitting back thinking we told you so.

The silence before the guillotine drops is palpable.

I tend to agree. It must be driving many of them, club, and supporters nuts !!

All the way through it appeared ( to me ) that the EFC and its Golden Light paraded with aplomb acting the bully boy. This latest ( laughable) ploy at a 'boycot" shows they still think they are able to command things, that they still seem to think they hold some upper hand and certainly the higher moral ground. I can only hope they are in for one hell of a come-uppence !!

If there was a god he might be happy with a 2 year ban backdated to last game. The club should forfeit 1st and 2nd rnd picks for same said 2 years. WorkSafe should come in and deal with the club, its board and responsible ( sic) staff. With any luck then the Polizia ought to charge those concerned with receiving and dispensing prohibited drugs.

The many , especially the demented , seem to think this is all a game. It should be dealt with as it is, a crime.

Im also wondering if the idea of this being viewed as "Multiple Violations" should be given weight. This was after all not an isolated incident but a program of repetitious transgressions.

Given the nature of stalling and non -co-operation ( in reality , not as per stated ) then it ought to be looked upon as:

AS (Aggravated sanction): The anti-doping rule

violation was or should be sanctioned by an
aggravated sanction under Article 10.6 because
the Anti-Doping Organization established the
conditions set forth under Article 10.6.
In this case penalties can up to double !!
Essendon and fanboys keep banging on about discounts and reduced sanctions. Id be upping it for their wanton attempts to derail everything.
two can play

Heard some interesting conversations on radio this morning:

1. What does NAB think of the current shenanigans by EFC and are they trashing/devaluing their sponsorship? You would think they would have second thoughts when this contract with the AFL expires.

2. 34 players on trial means there are 9 who are not. Like Wunderlich and Zakarahkis there were 7 others who chose not to participate and did not sign the consent forms. This proves the program was optional. So much for the 'duped and doped' argument the players are claiming! They had a choice. 34 chose and consented to doping, 9 did not!

Patrick Smith in his article I think hits the nail on the head with this paragraph:

"Given the level of confidence of players, club and coach, it is surprising Essendon just doesn’t play its team of choice — including 2012-listed players — on March 7 and back its optimism bordering on certainty that they will be cleared by the tribunal."

Put up or shut up Essendon !!

( but then we all KNOW hey !! )

he'd be laughing his head off, bub

think the afl board is long overdue for a major rehaul

If you mean AFL Commission, a departure of one Commissioner was announced today with Justice Linda Dessau being appointed as Victoria's next Governor.

For the conspiracy theorists out there, that means Victoria's Premier and incoming Governor are both mad-keen Essendon supporters.

Alternative view; there is one less mad bomber supporter on the Commission.

I am sick to death hearing about the Essendon 34 and their right to privacy.

Stewart Crameri, Patrick Ryder, Angus Monfries have openly stated that they received notices. Strangely they don't appear to be bothered that the information is out.

If as is leaked to the media the 34-3=31 less delistings etc now reported = 17 are innocent pawns in this sorry saga why not come out.

Mark Slobinson named them. But now it is a secret.

The 17 are not the victims they would have you believe.

If you are innocent hold your head high, look people in the eye and say so. This is not rape or murder the spin doctors would have us believe they were duped, but the duplicity is painting a different picture for me.

Guilty. Guilty. Guilty.

Until Dank produces the Paperwork Essendon are Guilty

Simple....

I think Essendons problem is that if all the paperwork is provided they may be more guilty. (other chargers to be added)

Essendrug losses:

Their current. Premiership window

An (at the time) elite coaching panel

Season 2013, 14 (15 &16)

Premiership window (13-15 and any chance before 2020?)

Potential hundreds of current members

Potential thousands of new members

Potential hundreds of thousands of sponsor dollars

FA recruiting

Respect (what little they had) from the rest of the competition

Working relationship with competition custodians

100+ year legacy

Decade long (at least) tarnished name and reputation

Current players/administrators/ supporters mental health.

Essendrug gains: Better training recuperation time.

Have I missed anything? :) :)

Sadly, that will probably just embolden the sick #@#%s, as they will probably think that as a last resort they can get a pardon or something ...

What im constantly noting is the continued attempts by Essendon to orchestrate timelines.

Another ruse in this regard is whereby theres a constant reference to sanctions being firstly discounted severely and then backdated to their last game.

The only way a 6 month ban can be served up is whereby conditions are satisfied that WADA would reduce the penalty by up to the maximum 3/4 ( 75%) I.E 2 Years to 6 months. But this only occurs when firstly the accused comes clean, admits guilt, doesnt hinder the proceedings and essentially 'helps' by divulging all. As none of the Bombers ( remaining at windy Hill )seem to have done such I cant see where any reduction comes into play.

Also theres the other ploy of referring this fictional backdating back to the last game and this being the concern and butting point for the players and why they wont budge. Well unless I have been reading it wrong all along suspensions get pinged from the issuance of Infringement Notices and that would be Nov.

So we see it that time and time again Essendon are trying to pull the wall over everones eyes

I cant see how anything less than a Year from last Nov can be given...and thats the BEST case scenario for Essendon !!

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
