The way I see it we will need to do a player trade for either Frost or Garlett, we won't have enough picks.

Or...

23 for Garlett and 28

28 for Lumumba

Clark and 60 for 35 and 54

54 for Frost

Still have 35 in the bag after all that.

The Blues had the best small forward combination a couple of years back one left last season the other will be gone this trade period. Add Waite into the picture and Carlton has lost it's Full forward Line from two years ago.

And so far replaced them with Liam Jones. :D

On trade radio, Essendon or Melbourne. The problems at EFC ruled them out. BOOM!

Yeah, us being able to field a side next year puts us ahead. ;)

On trade radio - Pickering (his manager) said Roos has an appealing role for him, not just as a small forward but more up the ground in the midfield also

Our man Roos is a genius. So good at selling.

Garlett hits me as the ideal player for the rope-a-dope style of footy, where you flood your back line to soak up and stop the opposition then want to quickly counter attack while your forward line is open.

Garlett also offers ability at ground level if we're not playing the counter too. He's a great fit if his mind is in the game and he brings discipline.

At his best he applies good forward pressure too!

I love that Roos brings in players to carry out a specific role in his game plan, rather than the idiotic scattergun approach Norf Melbourne take by bringing in whoever's available only to lose one of their best midfielders as collateral.

Line-breaking and bouncing are massive flaws in modern MFC footy.

Harry, Garlett, Varcoe (heading west?) is the injection we are clearly after.

Looks like Roos year 1 went for inside mids; year 2 for line-breaking outsiders.

Roosy can get the best out of this kid.

Carlton mates used to rave about Garlett

If we can stitch up Jeff & Harry O this week for second round picks we have done well in stage 1

Blease, Strauss and the kitchen sink.

We offered that 3 for 1 offer to Carlton already but the baulked at the suggestion - their unrealistic offer was a straight swap Gartlett for the kitchen sink.

Paul Roos.

We are seriously lucky to have him at the club but he is the only selling point we have at the moment

Just me or is the MFC a sneaky chance of getting in the 8 if everything goes to plan next year?

Just you, two players that their current clubs don't want anymore doesn't make us a top 8 team.

No, unless we get a decent tall goalkicker then I think we will seriously struggle to kick winning scores. I'm not letting the promise in the off season get me again !! I only see us winning 6 to 7 games but who knows really.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
