Gary Lyon reckons we will take Brayshaw and Wright.

I'm not sure he's Wright about that. (guffaw!)

How about Pick 23 for Greene

Pick 23 for Merrett + Brisbane's third rounder.

Brisbane's third rounder on-traded for Frost.

Take best available midfielder in the PSD with pick 2, rather than having to burn it on Frost (see what I did there?)

Get anyone who is better than Evans/McKenzie as a DFA. Burbury has my vote, would cost peanuts and kicks goals.

Delist Strauss/Tappy/Blease obviously.

I prefer we keep Jeremy Howe! High marking's about the most spectacular sight in our game, Howe's about the best high mark in the history of the sport; sport is a division of the Entertainment Industry . His crowd drawing adds to his good playing value.

Yep, we should definitely keep one-trick ponies to pull the same crowds through the door who are exiting in droves because our team sucks so much balls.

Fine with me

Greene for 23 would be huge

I would like to see Melbourne help broker the deal between St Kilda and GWS for #1.

St Kilda gives #1, #21 for #3, #6, #23

GWS gives Greene, #4, #6 for #1, #21

Melbourne gives #3, #23 for Greene, #4

This makes sense to me Merrett and a recycled player or 2 along with picks 2 and three and we improve again.

I'm hopeful Blease can be saved by Goodwin and adapt to Roosys game plan as a rookie and make a Jettaesque comeback although unlikely.

His outstanding attribute is very useful.

Add Frost to us and it is a good deal.

Blease is gone either through a trade or delisting and he wants to be gone, absolutely how he feels.

DN9, going by this logic, *every* year, the team that finishes last is odds on to finish last the next year. If you're going to pencil us in for last this year, why stop there? Pencil us in for last every year for the rest of our lives.

I don't know who we're going to leapfrog. We should improve, and some teams will get worse. It happens every year. Predictions of finishing last this far out make the assumption that everything will remain static - that's just not how it works.

I seriously can't fathom why many posters on this board even support our club.

It is such a miserable existence with no hope, no optimism and everything we touch turns to crap.

We can't trade properly because there should be players banging our door down to come to the club.

We can't even get HL into a Melbourne jumper for his announcement about him joining our club.

Do these posters derive even the slightest bit of enjoyment out of our club or is it just an exercise in self flagellation ?

It would be interesting to see how many are members?

Picking up Wright would be a backflip on Roos thoughts of drafting Talls straight out of the TAC. I wouldn't mind, i really rate him.

You realise the Greene's number are almost identical to Nathan Jones ?

Whilst you don't base judgement purely on stats - the one stat is that you would never get Greene for pick 23.

Brayshaw and Lever. Dees wanted a pick further down the first round order but may have to go early on Lever

I am realistic about where we sit but if I couldn't find some way to get enjoyment out of supporting my team I would just stop supporting - as simple as that.

I got some enjoyment last year out of seeing obvious improvement, watching for the first time in years three good recruits come in and make an impact (Cross Tyson Vince). The club has some stability about it.

We have now put the missing piece in place in the coaching box and I am eager to see how Hogan goes. Do I think we will knocking on the door for the 8 ? nope. Will I get frustrated during the year - absolutely . Will I be satisfied - unless we race up the ladder - nope.

Will I moan and gripe about our club and be woe is us - I'll walk away from the game first.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

We'll break down the Match SIM against North Melbourne and wrap up the preseason with insights into training and our latest recruits.
