If anyone thinks re-signing Riley was....

Pig dog is my fav new player, if you where watching the game you will he has such a big heart he got so many free kicks. wow I loved how he put his body on the line.. He has a style about him that reminds me of grinter. I think with another year under roos he could be one of our best players..

Pig dog is part of our future, if you can't see you are complete bline!! In fact I thought he was in our top five tonight and part of the reason we where competitive.

Finally I would like to say what a great decision by our management for resigning him, and I can tell you that our management know alot more about football than the person that started this pathetic thread.

Kind regards

Donny .

A good idea watch the last turnover kick across goal. A disgrace

NFI.

Roos' philosophy is obviously: keep the hard working honest triers with poor skills, get rid of lazy supposedly-skilful no-hopers, and bring in skilful kids, but tell them they won't get a game unless they work as hard as the hard working hacks.

Bail, Riley, Terlich et al will get games until skilful kids replace them by showing they'll work just as hard.

This thread is [censored] stupid! Going by the standards set here, Bernie Vince should be canned and Dom Tyson too. Thanks be to the Flying Spaghetti Monster that you tards are not on the selection commitee!

He came into the season underprepared after a broken leg. Poor skills late in the game will happen until he develops a tank. How many times in the last few weeks did Vince miscue kicks to opponents that resulted in turn over goals? I can think of at least 2. (Not dissing Bernie). Judge Riley at the end of next year after a full preseason and 12-15 games.

He works hard and is ferocious. He can also get the footy. These attributes aren't that easy to find and for that I think he deserves a spot on the list in 2015.

But he clearly has no idea what to do with it when he gets it. And his kicking skills are below A-grade amateur level.

2015 will make or break him. I personally agreed with Tony Shaw when he said, you kick like Riley and you won't play much AFL.

Yeah chookrat big future for him, I hate people who bag our player just because they make one simple error

I sense a theme in all 194 of your posts.

seriously have a look on video at every game he's played for MFC. He kicks it to the opposition or handpasses it backwards and turns it over or hesitates when in perfect position to kick a goal or at least to the top of the goal square so long that he gets tackled and loses the ball. Absolute waste of a place in the team.

LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

Failed to fulfill the promise of his breakout six goal effort against the Tigers in 2023 and was generally disappointing as a key forward. It remains to be seen whether Simon Goodwin will persevere with him in attack or return him to the backline where he was an important cog in the club’s 2021 premiership success. After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level. Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed. The son of former Demon Brownlow Medalist Shane, Taj added a further 16 games to his overall tally of games but a number were as substitute.
