Collingwood seems like a strange choice

Thats one team we could go past in 2015. They are losing good players to retirement soon or already have, and Swan is burned out

I reckon he will sign with Gold Coast

Surely this year after losing Clark and being in the bottom 4 for the past 8 years, we are in line for a PP... So we could possibly end the year with picks 3,4 and 5... Seems fair to me, though the AFL aren't in to being fair...

Scharenberg, Freeman, Grundy, Adams, Beams, Reid, Sidebottom, Elliot..... Ummmm I think they'll be ok, and still way ahead of us.

Adams is a spud

Both have been injured, but it's their first years, and both highly rated.

Grundy is 19.

Adams is not a spud.

We have nowhere near the talent and resources they have at the moment. They are at least 3-4 years ahead of us.

Taylor Adams disposal is atrocoious

makes Jack Grimes look like Cyril RIoli

most Pies fans see Adams as a huge disappointment

He's 20, Grimes is 25. Plus it's his first year in a totally new and experienced team, of course it will take him a while to learn the game plan and deliver the ball effectively.

For comparison sake look at Tyson who's effective disposal rate is 2% better.

My one eyed Collingwood supporter husband agrees 100% with that comment.

So Barrett on TFS says that Geelong, Hawthorn and Suns have made pitches to Frawley.

While Robbo says he has committed to Collingwood.

Don't rule out GWS. Two years ago, after GWS beat us at Spotless, one of the GWS assistant coaches (can't remember his name) told me they intended to have a big crack at getting Frawley if he was available. He pretty well said he was the only player they rated on our list, which prompted a bit of an argument at the time.

Well, he's available. And I expect they've got a fair bit of dough up their sleeve having just missed out on Franklin last year, seemingly (in their view) at the 12th hour.

If $$$ is the driver, I expect Frawley's manager will have had, or will have, some serious discussions with GWS.

And, relevantly, Spotless Stadium is situated next to the place at which they hold the Royal Easter Show each year. For the loyal country boy, this may be a determinative factor - he'll be able to participate in the wood chopping competition, pat the little lambs, and be a judge in the pickled jam bottle competition every year whilst he's running around with his mate, Tommy Scully.

It's almost romantic.

Edit - typo.

I suppose if he wants 800k for 7 years GWS are about the only chance of paying that,

James frawley is the only player they rate? haha wow they're smug up there in western Sydney haha

Nathan Jones imo is a better player than anyone on their list

It is bad but I'm not fazed if he goes or stays. He goes we will get pick 4 or 5 for him, we put one of our first round picks on the table to try and attract another youngish midfielder that has been in the system 2-4 years. We keep the other pick for another highly rated young Midfielder, we then use our second round pick to bolster our tall defense, followed by Stretch with our third round pick and another tall with 4th round pick Add Jetta upgrade, gives you 6 changes to our list, plus look for some value somewhere as a DFA.

The sooner he mans up and says he is going the sooner we can move the hell on and never talk about him again.

Man up ? Name another footballer who said he is going before the end of the season (I think Bock (or Davis ?) said he was going to Gold Coast just before the last game of the season and was promptly dropped).

This idea of him telling the club now is such a nonsense - it is necessary for no-one except skittish supporters.

Sharenberg will prove to be an absolute steal like Grundy.

Freeman too will be a solid player.

Collingwood will continue to improve for the next couple of years.

They have a solid mix of rucks, backs and forwards.

They have serious talent and it shits me.

How is Grundy proving to be an absolute steal - he can't get a game and was horrific in his most recent VFL game?

If you watched Grundy play at the end of last year you would have seen he is an obvious talent, but these big boys take time

I personally was shocked Grundy was taken outside the top 10

I have no idea where he is going but my gut instinct tells me he is gone.

I did hear Nathan Buckley on AFL 360 - he was asked about Frawley.

His reply was so stilted, fumbled and basically poor that I am now convinced on one of two possibilities

1/ Frawley is signed, sealed and delivered to Collingwood; or

2/ Buckley is in desperate need of a course on how to handle fairly simple questions from the media.

He has talent for sure, but there is no justification for labelling him an absolute steal when he is playing reserves football, has no rising star nomination and is a statistical nightmare.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
